Excelsior Council

I was a member of the council and as I was told the purpose of the council was to be a channel to the staff for player related issues. The President of the Council (last one was LLexa and I was her Vice) was suppose to be an ear for +Colibri and give him and +Rayne a list of issues on a weekly basis that were up channeled to us. As I understood it, this was suppose to limit the amount of PM's and Emails that would be sent to +Colibri and +Rayne. If you saw a Council member you were to pass any concerns on to them and thus onto the staff. The Council went away for several reasons. To be on the Council, you had to be nominated by other players then have the concurrence by 3 Council members. If one member objected, you didn't make it. Unfortunately, too many players saw it as a status symbol and put pressure on Council members to make them a part of it which turned the council members off of their position (it did me); another reason is that the book that was used to bring a player into the Council got a bug in it and +Colibri saw it as a low priority to fix it, rightly so; also very few players understood the role of the council and never approached us with issues (maybe our fault there); and the last reason is that the shard exploded in size in a short period of time at the same time as the council members were drifting away. Hence, the Council just faded away. There was no other reason for the Council than to be a layer in between players and staff. For those of you who may been around long enough, we used to also have a Mayor of Excelsior but that became an impossible job as the shard exploded in size.

Ahh, Thats it Thanks Cygnus... I think i mentioned before, few of us remain in this big player base... i remember the Mayor of Excelsior, but that was too new to me when i started, i was more focus'd on establishing myself in uoex world then concerned who was our mayor lol

On to topic. I wasnt around when the Council were around as im still a newb, but I do agree sometimes i get a little bored and go away for a day or two.... (oh no wait... I get called into work) I do however findnew ways to amuse myself.... what i can/can't melee, bio engineering, pet breeding, crafting, Welcoming new players, organising hide and seek, running a guild, plat ele hunting..... dying at umbris, the new dungeon, redoing my house, I might even start plant growing too.....

You forgot "being from the future and doing stuff with Fiacha cuz she is super ubber cool and makes everything fun and unboring" ^_^
