Backbreeding mules. First the gen 1 only has 1 breed and now the first gen 3 is completely sterile. Almost ALWAYS the useable. Virtually NEVER the gen 10 throw away coming out sterile. Its wayyyyyyyyyyyyy beyond belief that its all just "bad luck" at this point. A cluster of steriles 10 backbreed cycles in a row is just a BIT hard to believe, If it was the gen 10 cull coming up sterile half the time I would find it a little more believable. At most 5 or 10% of the steriles on the backbreeds are the gen 10's

And you say to yourself it was just one sterile so far. Yeah right 1 out of 1 on gen 3's. Will let you know how the percentage goes. Its never been 1 out of 20 on a backbreed cycle yet.

Well update the 2nd gen 3 mule was sterile also. That's 2 for 2. Just a BIT more than 5% don't you think? Let's see 1 out of 20 so that means 1 out of 400 chance of 2 in a row. Something VERY similar happened last time I backbred mules. So times 20 times 20. 1 out of 160,000 chance. You begin to see why I say the sterile rate is broken on backbreeds in particular?

It makes absolutely no difference if its just a a mistake in the code or if its on purpose, the EFFECT is I get an unbelievable number of steriles every time I backbreed. The system is broken.

Well it appears I must apologize. I don't remember claiming it but I actually have a gen 3 mule that wasn't born sterile. So that's only 2 out of 3 born sterile. Of course the first gen 4 is born sterile. So for gen 3 and 4's that 3 out of 4 so far being sterile. Still just a BIT more than the "norm" of 5%. More data for my "backbeeding is broke" claim.

Yup 3 out of 5 gen 3 mules sterile. And the ONLY gen 4 from this back breeding so far is sterile. So you could say 4 out of 6. Yeah 66% sterile rate is about what I normally see at critical generation of a backbreed. It might be 5% overall but the devil is in the details. 10 or 11 backbreed programs in a row with a huge amount of steriles at the critical phase is just a BIT beyond "bad luck".
