discussion about new pet spawns
I would like to point out three things that concern me about the new pet spawns that irk me . No.1 I believe that the nox steed should be one slot just like the noble steed and firesteed. There is not much difference in them except type of breath so why are nox steeds two slots? It just doesnt make sense to me.
number 2 After finally finding a new pet spawn staff keeps moving them again. I also think this is friggin ridiculous. Whats the fun of searching and finding something if the staff is just going to move it again as they have the bone beetle and the noble steed.
And finally its hard enough to find and get to these new pets let alone dealing with the insane spawns around them. Heck most the time I have accidentally killed the nox steed because the spawn as so big that as my pets killed I inadvertantly got killed and then as I was running to ressurect my pets killed the steed along with the rest of the spawn. Ya know its one thing to make something a challenge but to make it friggin ludicrous is unbelievable.
This is just my thoughts on the subject in no way do I mean any offence.

Re: discussion about new pet spawns
insane spawns is why we have guilds
(not everything is meant to be solo'd )
as for fire steeds, arent they 2 slots ?

Re: discussion about new pet spawns
I like the idea of spawns being moved it makes them more rare and more fun to explore looking for them. I think they should be month once per month.
Re: discussion about new pet spawns
i got to say i found the nox steed spawn pretty challenging...i died twice and it took a long time to take them down and not get the steeds attention so my pet wont kill it but i did it and i was alone. So it is soloable, just got to find a different strategy than say just running up in there guns blazing. I'm not sure about the others but this was my experience. What i did find a little unfortunate is i waited a very long time for a respawn and none came...so i guess there is a longer timer on this guy.
Anyways, with regards to spawns being challenging - all that determines is how expensive they will be when the stronger/richer/better equipped/more tactical player is ready to sell them. But hey, we can still kill those balrons all day and buy them right?
On moving spawns - Its rewarding to finally find that rare spawn but its downright depressing to find out it moved and have to search all over again for the same fella especially if you had a long hard time finding him the first time. How about more spawns to look for rather than old ones moving around?

think of it ans a search event, not as a spawn that can be farmed ^^ ?
Re: discussion about new pet spawns
I love playing here but there are two things that bugged me at first.
First one was Fel. I've always been someone who lived in Fel. Even with the no mark or recall in and such I wanted to live there. When I realized you couldn't it bugged me a bit but I've adjusted.
The second were the spawns. When I say spawns I'm talking about the power of the dungeon spawns in relation to the strength of the pets and characters here with unlimited skill. I quickly realized with my pets on guard I could walk through MOST dungeons in Trammel and have no problems whatsoever.
I thought it was this way because it was a Trammel spawn so I quickly started exploring the dungeons in the other realms. I found it was pretty much the same there too.
We owned and ran a server for 2 years. That was 4 years ago and I understand how much staff have to do and deal with.
Our spawns were thick and fast. We had very powerful pets and adjusted our spawns to match. If you were going to farm Balrons you had to deal with Succubi and Blackgates as well. If we saw something was being solo'd easily or wasn't challenging we adjusted the spawn and/or moved it. That sort of thing keeps players from getting into a routine and fights the boredom that can happen if things aren't challenging.
It also gives others a chance to find that particular rare spawn. If it's not moved or altered in some way then one person can find it and figure out the spawn time on it and then it's hard for someone else to get that thrill of finding and taming something new!!
As for the slots I haven't tamed a Nox Steed yet but judging by the name I'd say it probably has some potent poison. Poison is a powerful weapon if the skill is high enough. If it's deadly or lethal, or can get to those levels, then I'd say it needs to use 2 slots instead of 1.
That's my opinion on it for what it's worth. With that said I only have one more thing to say.
Bring on the insane spawns!!! I enjoy a challenge!!

I take it you haven't visited the Labyrinth, or Prism of Light, or tried to fight Paroxysmus, had a tea party with the Dread Mare and Ancient Black Liches? While doable, I dare you to take on the Crystalline Stone Giants with pets solo. Hope you don't get any stat losses.Shal wrote:Bring on the insane spawns!!! I enjoy a challenge!!

There are plenty of powerful spawns out there if you go looking for them. The trouble with adding harder things to previous spawns is you forget we've got younger, weaker players too. I generally see a certain progression of people starting in the basic dungeons, building their power to take on things in Tokuno and chasing balrons so they can make some cash, working up to doing champs (whenever they're not being camped as they have been lately), then on to the lesser peerless. Don't see a lot of people making it to the harder peerless lately, but it'll come. Tooling around with the old spawns too much seems like it would throw that progression off.
True enough the stronger people who can take on the top tier stuff tend to camp around some of the easier spawns to make some quick cash, but that's the nature of things. Why risk getting mauled when you can kill a (previously to that player) difficult monster quickly and do about as well, assuming you're not after rares? Buff that stuff until it becomes not worth the effort, people will move on to the next cash cow, leaving the newbies in the dust dealing with the things you readjusted for the older players.
So, at least to this point I say, there are challenges waiting for you, go find it! There's great rewards for doing those quests anyhow!

As far as I've seen people tend to say everything is too easy, if that is the case why am I the only one doing Kronus for example? he is doable by 2-3 people easy but he is not like the normal champs where you turn on a macro and go to town.
There you have a challenge champwise, also you will find a challenge in The sleeping Dragon champ, no one ever does him as far as I've seen, he has always been found when i go do him.
Furthermore, they say regular dungeon spawns are too easy, Well go do the Peerless stuff.. Now im not talking about dreadhorn or Travesty who are pushovers. Go try Bedlam for example, it is probably the easiestof the ML dungeons, its doable solo if you know what you do, but all I hear is that its too hard to do, which confuses me...
I say keep it as it is and let the people try the harder stuff out there, I'm certain you wont say things are easy once you bump into the ice wyrm.... Nuff said.
Re: discussion about new pet spawns
Yeah you brought up a point about the rare spawns. I hate it when people find the spawns then camp the spawns so others don't get a chance to tame them. So by moving the spawns once a month you don't have people selling "spawn runebooks" for insane cash because even if they buy the book if someone is camping the spawn or has the spawn timer down to a key others won't get a chance.
Re: discussion about new pet spawns
Been Pondering on this a little...
Why does all spawns have to be easy? Like old man said that's why you have a guild. or better yet why do you have a guild if you don't do things with them. I was killed at the nox steed also but did anyone seem me scream for help ? no i just went and rez'd and went back and tamed it with a little different strategy. ( i think the strategy thing was talked about in another post on here ) On the subject of the spawn being an ( Uber ) and i really dislike using that word. i think the staff make new things just for a change not always to be used as a tools to fight with and if we keep complaining about how they set stuff up they prob. wont add items like the new spawns for players to have fun and stay challenged. I'm sure most here in RL have challenges every day.
If you cant stand the heat don't go or bring you guild like i do.

Re: discussion about new pet spawns
i pit them against champs, and then the harrower.
eventually they come out better, stronger, and more evil.

Re: discussion about new pet spawns
The only thing I commented on was how ridiculous it is to do the new pet spawns. i didn't say a word about champs or anything else. I understand what you guys are saying, but also understand that not everyone has every macro imaginable or can use them well. The shard is more primed towards the veteran players than it is a newer player. I may have been here almost 6 months but I still have trouble with a lot of things on this shard and alot of things on here are harder than most shards i have been on and trust me I have tried a lot of them. I do champs occasionally and peerless occasionally, but what I enjoy most is the taming and crafting, so when i spend 6-7 hours of my real time to find a new spawn just to have it moved on me two days later yes it upsets me and i think that is ridiculous.
As far as the thickness of the spawns it is tough. Maybe I just aint that good like some of you. but all them poison and acid elementals give me a heck of a battle.
Oh and I still think the Nox steed should be 1 slot just like the nobles.

dark all you have to do is ask. if you want ill show you how i do some things like how to do nox steed. but like i said before you cant charge right in. use stealth and your pets let your pets take the brunt on the damage and use cleric spells. pm me hen you want to go
