Refreshing a boat?

Hi all,

I have been sort of stumped trying to refresh my boat (without drydocking it). I have tried everything I can think of: unlocking the plank, opening the plank (exiting, re-boarding), renaming the boat, opening the hold, placing something in the hold, moving the boat, begging the tillerman to fix the damn thing up...

Am I missing something obvious?

Only way i can do it is to turn a few times while moving. Hope it helps

I saw this post and noticed much the same thing last night. Boat refreshing seems to be a bit glitch. The only way I got mine to refresh was to rename it, then it was like new.
