Monthly auction?

Not sure if this has ever been discussed but has there been any thought of doing a monthly auction? Pick a set day every month at the same time and auction off custom clothing & armor along with a few other things?
I feel like it would really help shore up some of the piles of gold, EDs, and tokens people are sitting on and would motivate people to be more active in the game and collect more in order to buy more stuff at auctions.
I know the GMs are short staffed at the moment but it would certainly inject a little more life into the shard. One of the other shards started having monthly auctions and they've seen a decent increase in activity because of it.
Just a suggestion...
