Best time for auction during Superbowl Sunday

Our 14th anniversary is just around the corner, there will be a grand auction next weekend. And well, in the past, we've frequently bumped into a similar timeslot as the superbowl, which is bad both for the prices of the items, as well as the folks who wanted to buy stuff.
Now, the auction will be in 2 installments with almost identical items (except for the custom houses, unless if it's 2 star houses or 2 water houses). But still, we can figure out what's the best time for the sunday auction - would it be before the game, or after the game? How much of a gap should there be between the auction and the superbowl, so that you got time to cooloff/prepare?

Is there any chance you can hold the auction the weekend after the Superbowl? In the US it's not just about watching the game...it's like 3-4 hours before that as well as people throw huge parties.
If you absolutely cannot move it, the game starts at 5:30pm eastern time, so I'd say around 2pm.
But...as a majority of the active players are in the US it's almost like having an auction on Thanksgiving day. It's a pretty big deal. If you can have it the weekend of 8/9 it would work much better for a ton of people.

Super bowls aren't celebrated worldwide pekto. I honestly wouldn't have known it was on if not for this thread. With respect, Americans need to settle down with this football match. It's not like it's the world cup or something...

I say have it during Superbowl

That way I may be able to buy a house instead of someone outbidding me just to try to resell it on their vendor later :p
On a serious note; either 1 or 2PM EST that day, or move it to the following weekend.

True mate, honestly had no idea, but if the americans have such a huge celebration like Moulke said we could respect them. I still think football is with the feet but that's for another discussion haha
Why not just make some event for birthday celebration and leave the auction for later?

Superbowl day is much more than just about the actual football game. Many people couldn't care any less about it, it's just sort of a "holiday" per se for people to come together and spend 1/2 the day together. It has much more of a significance than just the sport itself. It's a unofficial holiday. At work, its the day with the highest "sick" calls all year.
While it's not celebrated worldwide, a vast majority of the population is in the United States so...I think it would be a wise move to have it the following weekend. I'll be there either way but...it's very inconvenient to have it that day.

^^^ This I can understand and agree with.
What I can't stand are the generic over the top "SUPERBOWL SUNDAY! YEEEEE HAW! WE'RE GOING TO DIZZZNEYLAND BABY, YEEEEEEW!!!! USA USA USA!" (that's meant to be read with an American accent) parades that go with it. The whole thing grinds my gears, I prefer my sporting spectacles to be more understated and sophisticated, but I guess that's because I don't live in that consumerist, sensationalist society. I hate that people from within the USA try and make it seem like the rest of the world gives a damn about it.

They call it Super Bowl Sunday but for example...very few people outside of Green Bay (maybe all of Wisconsin) and San Francisco really cares much. You watch the game because the commercials are entertaining if you're not rooting for anyone. The best part about Super Bowl Sunday is the parties that bring family and friends together.
