Vendor system revamp
Vendor system revamp
So this topic has been discussed a lot in the past, but the vendor system remained the way it has been for years.
Any vendor spot cannot compete with a TC vendor spot because of different fees. A few months ago I had a TC vendor and it was pleasently easy to sell stuff compared to other locations. Selling pricy items on a MZ vendor is hardly worth it.
There have been a lot of interesting thoughts on how things could be changed (e.g. at http://uoex.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12339).
Are there any plans regarding the vendor system?

Re: Vendor system revamp
When i didn't have tc vendor spot my opinion was this must bve changed because nothing compares to tc spots.
Now that I have a tc vendor my opinion is the the system is fine.
Tc vendors actually Change hands more often than u think, I've seen quite a few drop recently.

Re: Vendor system revamp
Am I the only person who doesn't understand why one place on the server should have benefits and perks over another place, making it so most people end up buying from that place? Why shouldn't everyone's vendor have an equal and fair chance at making sales, and equal and fair sales tax and vendor cost and per week/month/whatever cost? Why shouldn't everyone be able to sell in gold, tokens, or EDs?
Re: Vendor system revamp
I understand what your saying but i look at it like this i can do to a mom/pop hardware store and buy an item for $5 and i can go to walmart and buy the exact same item for $4. also if you think about it you are paying more per month for a spot in TC compaired to MZ ( if you are selling items at all)
Re: Vendor system revamp
It doesn't matter if you're paying more per month in a TC spot if the perks of a TC spot completely and utterly outweigh that cost.
Specially when, if you manage to get hecka lucky and snag a TC spot, you can sell it for MILLIONS. That's plain ridiculous and just speaks volumes that there's a problem.

Re: Vendor system revamp
I would say making MZ the same as TC would be a great idea but only one vendor per person between both of the spot. so you cant have more then 1 total.
It took me 3 months of bank camping to get my TC vendor.
Also i dont think enough people are using the vendor web site cuz if you/they do use it it would not matter were you have a vendor I find more items cheaper from the web site not in TC.

I think +C likes to have TC busy. Probably to have some sort of heart of the shard, it’s also where new players spawn, let’s them know the shard is alive. Years ago, there was a time that TC was mostly empty and rules were changed to bring it back. This was still some time before the current rules.
I needed a TC vendor again about 8 months or so ago, it took some time to watch but I was able to get one. The fact you can’t sell the spots now helped a lot. Keep checking you will find one, especially with the nicer weather coming in... well that’s assuming we get off lockdown I guess...

Re: Vendor system revamp
There were plenty of ideas at the time, though we didn't come to a conclusion on what should actually be changed. The thing is, these things need to be coded, and tested, and then announced and monitored if it all works correctly... but eventually issues with the new configuration start showing, so it can be a lot of work for little gain, or it can be even worse.
Sometime after that discussion thread, we've added some changes to make trading vendors at TC harder/impossible, which seems like it put a damper on the issues.
Also several years back, when we added rentable Shop destinations to the world teleporter, it had a negative impact on TC, and it became kind of deserted. Then these upgrades (multicurrency and salestax instead of daily fee) made TC more interesting again. And perhaps TC is now even too good, but there will always be something that's not exactly correct.
I think there's still room to improve, since this an ever-upgrading world. For now it's going to stay as it is.
P.s. for a while the new player spawn location was moved to britain, but it's at TC again.

Re: Vendor system revamp
I could even forgive pretty much everything else if it was possible to sell things for EDs anywhere you wanted.

Would changing everything to the TC-system be a problem?+Colibri wrote:The thing is, these things need to be coded, and tested, and then announced and monitored if it all works correctly... but eventually issues with the new configuration start showing, so it can be a lot of work for little gain, or it can be even worse.
Re: Vendor system revamp
Why is this even a thing to worry about? Just buy ED with the gold you made from sales.Jantra wrote:I could even forgive pretty much everything else if it was possible to sell things for EDs anywhere you wanted.
Re: Vendor system revamp
Why should you be worried if anyone can sell things for EDs wherever? It's about being fair. TC can have it's better spot that's got more people going to it and the better costs. That makes it a 'better' spot without making it ridiculously unfair.Charon wrote:Why is this even a thing to worry about? Just buy ED with the gold you made from sales.

Would it better that TC can't sell for EDs? Would that be fair or do you not think that's a good idea?Jantra wrote:Why should you be worried if anyone can sell things for EDs wherever?
