BOD Question

Post by thuanlinh »

Can someone tell me for sure at what level skill do I need to be in tailoring, smithing, bowcraft, carpentry, and tamining to have a chance at the highest level big BOD. I already checked Wiki and asked around but have not gotten a response. Thank you

You need exactly 127 skill to get the best bod, but no more than that because at 128 another bod becomes available and it's not as good.

Yes, I'm trolling. You have a chance at getting every possible bod at 120 skill. You probably have a chance lower than that but it's not as good a chance. I can't imagine anybody has persisted their skill at specific levels long enough to evaluate the results of the random number generator given how many months you have to collect bods at 120 to get one of each so I don't think you'll get an answer.

And anyway, "best" is relative. The best bods in taming are the farm and bird bods. The animals are relatively easy to tame and they lead to 120 PS, 130 pet PS and +5 gear. There are harder bods to get but the animals are harder to tame and they still lead to the same rewards.

i think 75 skill is enough to start getting the large exceptional color bods but getting to 120 would be better. even at 120 skill the really good bods are rare.

AS a professional Bod person, Bod Crafter. I spend a lot of time completing lower end small bods to turn in to get a chance at a better high end bod. I spend hours and hours doing this to improve my overall bod collections (Fletching, Carpentry, Blacksmith, Tailoring and Taming).

Then when I turn in those high end bods for +5 armor or other special item, I feel I have earned the reward. :goodsuprise:

I am new player and I did mistake returning those small "normal" BODs for "instant gratification" ... and to solve space problems without enough BOD books (I was homeless then, with only standard bank chest) .
Now I am missing those small normal BODs because I can place there all leftovers when crafting exceptional BOD.
and with skill 70+ most of my BODs is "exceptional" ...

I love work put in BOD Taming rewards wiki page.
List of animals not in any large BOD is very useful. I can return those, retaining all other.

I selected supply chain path
Lumberjacking -> Carpentery & Bowcraft
Mining -> Blacksmithing & Tinkering
Tailoring (get scissors & skinning knife and skin all those rats in Newbie dungeon .. nobody wants them and it is free leather)
Taming - I follow Lady Luck, whatever I get in small BOD if I can tame it I will try to tame it.
you can poach from the zoo, tame animals in somebody else home corral ... (I have to thanks for those Ridgebacks)
