Excelsior

Hi folks!

I just started on the shard a few weeks ago and I must admit I am having a great time. I started on UO when it first appeared on the shelf at the BX and I have fond memories of playing with my gramps. Needless to say, my experience on Excelsior has been nothing but unadulterated infantile pleasure My master's thesis can wait while I pick at the mountains and whack the trees.

Anyway, I was wondering how easy or difficult it will be to replace the current mp3 files with some old school UO (or prior ultima games) MIDI files. I have looked for mp3 revamps of UO MIDIs but to no avail.

Any and all advice, comments, and the like will be greatly appreciated!

Should be some use to you. It's the old school UO music files. Just replace the ones that you have.

Last I checked, there were a few UO remixes on OCRemix.org. Me and a buddy used them on a UO Install package we passed around at school a couple years back. They sound pretty cool, in my opinion.

I replaced the MP3s on mine with custom songs on my computer. Like when i go into war more i have As I Lay Dying playing and stuff like that. Just put a copy of the song you want in the file and rename it to something on the game and replace it. Not that hard really

Hey I know this is an older thread. Instead of starting a new one I thought i'd post here. I'm trying to replace my song files with mp3s on my pc. UO just plays them as a loud screech. Ive tried changing the files from 320kbps to 128 and 64. All with the same results. Anyone ever have this problem and resolve it? They play fine with windows media player.

i think UO uses .midi files, hence why the mp3s wont work.
