Ice spike no drop
Just curious why it takes 3+people and a gang of pets with max mana gear fast cast and what not to kill this ice wyrm after 20 minuts of spam healing and a few multi million dollar bio pets to absorb the 2800+dmg firebreaths every 30 seconds , Why on gods green earth would a mob THIS powerfull NOT have a 100% chance to drop the ML quest item give some new players a chance when they Loos all their maxed pets to not get discouraged and quit the quest all together with 5 beat up pets jemini christmas whoever thought that 25% or less chance to drop was a good idea should go drown themselves for stupidity

Is it feasible to use a dummy pet to absorb the initial fire breath? And then sick your pets on the wyrm. Then res the dummy pet and sick it on the wyrm while calling the other pets back, making the wyrm switch target to the dummy, where abouts he will probably recover and use fire breath again? Rinse and repeat...?

It's funny because actually we have been doing the ice wyrm for the last 6 hours or so. Drop rate is fine, but what ges a little annoying is uo rng makes it that you can get 3 in a row then nothing for next 10 drops. This is meant to be a very hard quest, so difficulty level is ok. If I could make a wish though, i would like it to respwn faster, same for Skrat, Egipstki, Grizzle and Ortov.

It's more than possible to do it without any pet deaths, but most people can't pull it off with 3 people like that.

3 good healers 1 monster bio means no pet death. 2 healers, depends if you get thrue the first 2-3 firebreaths.

i have no Quam with the Diffulculty fingers Nor the delay so it cant be farmed 20 spikes in an hour, But The difficulty + the chance to do several with tnothing is plane o ignorant, mobs that drop less often can be solod w/o pets and have a long spawner this mob CANNOT be solod w/o pets and worse yet kills almost everything difficulty should mean you get a prise when your done not 80 leather some tokens and 1k gold this is just Stupid

heres another idea lets make the gem of completion a 50% chance to drop when you turn in all your gems 50/50 half the time you get a gem half the time you get the shuttle buss to you got spanked

Well that would be wise, one month of doing only the quest (for average/moderate player) for nothing in return

It took us 3 players - 9 hours - 20 kills to get 3 spikes. And we have been unlucky, last time we got 6 spikes in less time, seems reasonable to me.

There are a few problems with that, first being that the delay between breaths are 20 seconds, and sometimes a little faster. You don't really have time to rez/heal up before next firebreath. Also, the thing can melee for 150 easily if your pet has all 75's (350+ damage to my team c of nobles), wich a dummie pet doesn't usually have, so it can give it a few slaps and kill it, then switch target to the good pet and firebreath him for 2800(instdeath). Also, calling pets back doesnt make him lose target. So no, thats not an option. Well from the information you gave me and from the information i know already, i'd say it's pretty much right, though you had some bad luck.
As fingers wrote, i agree that it's probably the thing with the number generators. If you toss a dice, you can get the number 1 as a result for even 5 times in a row, and then the next guy who picks it up will throw 6 for a couple of times in a row. A nice thing to do i guess would be to have a smart number generator, which would remember your previous chances and if it didnt drop before, it would drop with more chance later on (kinda the "guaranteed gain system" they use on OSI), but it would require editing pretty much every script, and basically it would also take out the real randomness
Anyway, if you take the time to kill that thing for a 100 times, your bad luck could still severely effect it.

And obviously, making it an automatic drop would prevent farming.

well like you fingers i dont even need the gems anymore, but my time is limited to helping others do the quest when they wouldnt have a fat chance in hell doing that guy and we go for 2 spikes kill him 5 maby 6 times only get one, now we have to try to synch all our play times together to make a return trip becuase we all had to part ways in real , funny this same thing happened with me and zodart i helped him get his last spike and he was suposed to help me but we never caught back up with eachother immagine that(nothing bad to zodart)

I don't need the gems, but selling them 9 mil a peice sure helps me have a word to say at auctions
I am wearing 5 peices, sold 5. I don't want the hat as the only mods on them are mana and mana regen, wich I have plenty. I don't think I am going to do it again though. There are easyer ways to make gold and I just don't like the waiting game, especially with last "fixes" in Bedlam.

Very cool number generator Coli. But After playing with it for a bit it seems that only 1 die at a time was close to even results. any more then that then the results get very skewed.
If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well.
