I know you are able to enhance some items to make them better. Example would be a leather item with 30 luck could be enhanced with spined leather to add 40 luck to give it a total of 70.
Are other leathers able to be used for enhancement like demonic or frost or blaze? If they can what type of properties do they add? what about ores like plat or toxic?
Also do runic kits add to enhancement or just creation of items? what type of properties do the custom runics on this shard add to items?
Item enhancement
Re: Item enhancement
I'm also wondering about this. Comment from a Vet?

Re: Item enhancement
I know exactly what you are asking about. I was a big fan of item enhancement back on OSI. Sadly, the custom materials on this server generally just increase durability and the amount and intensity of runic enhancements on freshly made items.
It's been a while since I tried to enhance, but weapons seemed to get the most benefit, based on how you wanted the damage output to be delivered.
For example, ice based creatures are weak to fire damage. So, if you found yourself an Ice Elemental slayer wep, you could enhance it with bronze, which would change the damage from 100% physical to 60% physical/40% fire. I have not, however, tried to take a normal iron weapon and add, let's say blaze, but in theory it should make it 100% fire damage (just like ice ore for 100% cold, toxic for 100% poison and electrum for 100% energy damages).
The base materials on the custom leathers, looking back on a copy of the original script for the the DAAT custom crafting that is used here, don't show any specific enhancement (like spined have 40 luck, for example.) They just show that as base material, the base random number on each resist increases with the quality of leather (from 4-5 on blaze per resist all the way to 9 on Ethereal). Mind you these are base, non-runic numbers and based on an original copy of the script. Coli may have made some tweaks.
So basically, the new materials won't benefit enhancing armor much, other than maybe a durability perk. I will experiment later and see if I notice any trends, however.

Re: Item enhancement
Only experience I have with enhancing here is with Spined Leather on Luck Items that I found. Only thing is that I failed 90% of the time and lost the item. This is with 120 Tailoring and/or Blacksmithing, and I still failed miserably.
Best I can suggest is to use Runic tools to create everything instead of trying to enhance.
Oh, and I ate too.

Re: Item enhancement
The high failure rating of luck enhancement is when an item already has relatively high luck and then you try to augment it further.
For example, anything starting with 100+ luck has a much greater chance of failure when adding the 40 luck enhancement (eith spined for leather goods or gold ingots for metal), than something with let's say, 60 luck starting. Anything that pushes an item over the 100 barrier has a really high breaking chance. This hold true for metal weapon enhancements as well (for example, adding bronze to something that already has 70+ fire damage will break it since it will put it over 100)
