Hi all,

New to the shard and liking it a lot so far. Only problem is getting the Razor program up and running. Can someone copy and paste a line in their reg. code so I know what im typing wrong...

Talking about the part where you install razor, then have to edit the text (in a notepad.exe) to have it list: c:/ program files / where your uo is installed... etc

EDIT: example
The following steps are to be followed after you have installed Ultima Online.
1.) Go to the directory where you installed Ultima Online (I.e. c:\uo\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard\)
2.) Open the folder called RAZOR HOWTO.
3.) Open the file Custom.reg with a text editor by right clicking and selecting OPEN WITH and then choosing notepad.exe.
4.) You must edit this file on each line that ends with PATH to show the correct path to your Ultima Online installation directory. Pay special attention here as you must use 2 /'s instead of 1, for example, C://uo//Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard// BE SURE TO LEAVE THE FILE NAME AT THE END OF EACH LINE!

Step 4 is the one that's messing me up.

If someone could copy / paste an example of the text in one of their "PATH" lines so I know what im doing wrong, that would really help me out. Thanks

I'd paste mine but I installed to C:\Program Files so I didn't need to bother with it. An easy way of doing this is to copy the line in the address bar where your UO is installed and Paste it in the .reg, adding extra \'s.

If you don't want to hassle with the Registry at all, just start up Razor and on the Welcome Screen click on Browse next to UO Data Directory. Point it to the UO install folder (where client.exe is located), then click on Make These Settings Default and you should be set.

If you're still having problems, [pm BlaZe in-game and I'd be happy to TeamViewer so we can get you set up.

Well, if someone could paste theirs-- please do.

I can't open razor at all. I get an error. So I can't do it by loading that first then directing it where to look. I've deleted the whole program and retried it - same thing. I installed to C:/program files and I can't get this to work at all.

So if anyone has a 20 secs and doesnt mind pasting an example of one of the 'path' lines in their reg code... I'd really appreciate it.

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.5072\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded

EDIT- Thanks for asking that. I think I know how to go about this now.

Yikes, i've never gone through the registry with Razor before, heh. I just choose the file path in the welcome window of Razor and basically "browse" to insert the path I want.

While on the topic, what is the actual reason for making the registry edits for Razor? Just curious.
(obviously help the lad/lass out first but then let me know, lol)

I was just following the install guide. One of the steps says to install Razor.. and if it doesn't work properly (which is supposedly common) to then edit the text in a notepad and paste it in, etc. I thought i was doing this the EASY WAY! :scared: I'll figure it out.

EDIT: GOT IT WORKING :D

I did a google search for the error I had and apparently I didn't have some basic file on my pc (on a laptop I dont use very often). Installed it, updated and everything works now. Sorry to waste anyones time, thanks a bunch tho. I appreciate the help.

PS. WOHOO!! :woot:
