A little advice in some hunts!

Hello guys, maybe you can help me out. I want to get some advices about hunting bigger monsters, today i went to blood dungeon to give a try to a delicious Balron, of course i lasted less than a minute alive haha. I have a dragon and a nightmare, and i am building the classic archer template that i see everyone uses here, in combination with taming, music, magery and chivarly. I am GM in all the skills related to this template, but i still have crappy equipment. I tried this balron and he killed my dragon and nightmare in less than 10 seconds, i couln't heal them fast enough their life dropped too quickly (even using a wonderful script i found here in the forums for healing pets and myself).I took about 1/4 of his life, not enough. So i can see that i need to improve my tactics, and of course better pets and equipment. I wish you guys can help me out in some advices to continue training my toon and acquiring better pets to hunt more efficiently. And if you have some piece of advice to hunt these balrons it will be much appreciated!. I must say that i underestimated them, i thought i could handle one with my current status.
And one more question, since i joined this great server, i was playing alone, are there guilds that could be recruiting people? i would like to join one, mostly to hunt in everyplace i can't go alone, like champs and major mosters. My template is listed above, GM in most skills related to my playstyle, 120 in Lumberjack, 110 in mining and GM in every craft skill.
Nothing more for now, thanks all and hope you can illuminate me! hehe
cheers!

Hi, and welcome to the shard.
One of the most important things you need to start killing balrons is healing, not the silly magery spell, but the cleric ones. For that you need to work on Spirit Speak. You can access your cleric spells by typeing "i pray to the gods". there are 2 very useful healing spells there, much more powerful then any other heal in the game, and indeed heals even if the pet is poisoned. So the next thing you need to worry about then is mana to heal...a descent mana leech bow should help solve this problem. And lastly, better pets. There are a few vendors in town that sell maxed pets, Undertaker has a few rabbits and ostards for around 100k, start with one and buy more as you can afford. remember they use pack instinct, so the more the merrier. Focus on solely healing the pets, until you feel more comfortable (and have the mana) to use special attacks and skills. On a side note, using discordance will really help a ton!
Once you get (alot) better gear, and LGM skills you'll be meleeing these things without pets, but first things first, focus on your taming, and you'll get alot farther sooner.
Be well,
Ruewyn

Awesome post Ruewyn.. extremely helpful I'd say..
Clerical spells outdo every other form of spell casting in my mind. Just to point a thing or two out..
-the higher your Spirit Speak, the better chance of success when casting a Clerical spell.
-Clerical spells rely solely on tithe points, not hordes of reagents.
-to build on Ruewyn's "useful healing spells" comment, you should try out Angelic Faith when you're able to..

It adds to your HP.. meaning you hit harder, and you heal for more!
-also.. you can set up a macro for clerical spells so that you don't need to say "i pray to the gods" every time. Just set a macro that has you say: [cs <spell name>. For instance, you can type [cs angelicfaith and it will cast Angelic Faith. No matter the name of the spell,
always remove the space in the spell name when using [cs.
Indeed Balrons can be quite a pain in the rear.. But I'd recommend as well, avoiding them until you're more comfortable with healing yourself
and your pets.

Sure! There are always guilds recruiting. Just ask around. Last I heard, guilds such as SoD and £ö£ are recruiting.
I, myself, am Guildmaster of GMD (GrandMasters of Destruction) and we're always accepting new recruits.
If you want to learn more about us, you can check out our very own guild site:

Thanks for the repies guys. Yes i am using Cleric Spells, i found them out accidentally when i macroed Spirit Speak to GM to gain Stats. I am using the EasyUO script "Blazin' Pet Fighter" that uses the cleric spells as well, its fantastic, i can hunt very well with my actual equipment and pets. But of course i still cannot kill these guys ,beyond my reach for now. What could be a nice pet to improve my dragon - nightmare combo? Maybe i should get a better pet and start training it, i could buy one maxed, but i prefer to get one myself, its nice to get our own equipment by our hands, i valorate it more when it took a lot of work to acquire, if you know what i mean.
And one last thing for now, Veterinary is really worth it? i GMed it but i found the cleric spell a lot better to heal the pet, the combination of spell and bandage healing at the same time gives a bit more health but i don't feel that it makes much difference, i saw that when i attempted the balron.
Have a nice day guys! i will check the webpage, thanks!

Hehe... you're quite welcome..
Haven't used EasyUO yet, myself. Was thinking about it, to try to GM lockpicking.. ^.^
As for your dragon-nightmare combo.. well, depends on what kind of budget/price range you have...
And yes! Vet is absolutely worth it.. Despite it being a tad outmatched by Clerical spells, it proves very useful when you are able to res your pets without the use of a res potion..
Hope you enjoy the webpage..

Highly recommend EasyUO Orbit, and thanks for the promotion in your earlier post
If you know any programming it's relatively easy to pick up. And Blaze's Lockpicking to 99.5 script is wonderful.
I'm working on an auto-claimer

Indeed.. EasyUO comes highly recommended from me as well..
I recently tried it out..
BlaZin' TrainR: Lockpicking to be exact.. Awesome,
AWESOME script!
I wasn't aware that EasyUO was pretty basic scripting.. I was figuring on something much more complicated..

Yeah, the coding knowledge required is similar to a combination of VB.net and C++. Really easy.
