yup this is just like osi, except there are a few differences. this is a great shard with wonderful help. most players on this shard will help you out and especially when your in the 2 hour time. (you can get a tour during that time and your able to reward the tourer, which is a nice touch.) if you need help you can ask on the global chat by typing [c {txt}. there is apticuluter (bees) and horticulter (plants).. (special note: my spelling is terrible bear with me.) also, there is bio engineering.

new player hints:
pets: make a character with animal taming:50, magery 45, (third skill your choice). most players who hunt use pets. still a debate on which is better nobles or mules, but i prefer 5 maxed imprisioned pets, which can be found as loot on certain peerless monsters. yeah fun!!!

newbie champ spawn:
take advantage of this, because champ spawns drop powerscrolls, which allows you to go over the 100 individual skill cap. forgot to mention there is no total skill cap; you can gm everything and more.

there is much much more. custom house building, tool house's/crafter keys. lots of stuff.

Quick question. How many regular active players do you have?

I recommend starting with provocation or lockpicking at 50. Then use your skill balls to get whichever one you pick to 100. (or better yet get a 110 powerscroll so you don't waste the last 10 skillball points.
I've found that provo is the hardest skill to gain on this server by far. Lockpicking up to 95 is easy, but getting it to 100 or higher is a huge pain that takes awhile.

And like was mentioned before. Start with 50 animal taming. It's the most useful skill to get started and make money. Get a piece of jewelry to raise the skill above 60. See a trainer to buy a brush (a custom tool to craft taming items) and raise your taming skill to 100 this way.

Any other skills see the appropriate trainer to raise to around 30.

The game is alot more active than the forums :)

I would say there is usually 100+ people on most of the time. And quite a few long time regular players.

The last official milestone made was 225 people online at once.

provo is not the hardest skill to gain, i got to 120 provo in approx 5-6 hours of game time... you just have to know how to do it best

I'd love to know your secret. I think provocation is a complete PITA to raise. :(

the secret is actully simple, but reqires friends (unless owned one by you) is having access to a private training room... there, you cannot get hurt, thus taming any creature, and releasing them in there you can macro provo hours on end...

but i must warn you, its no secret dragons are a good one to use when high enough in skill, but lemme put it this way, when provoking a wild dragon to another wild dragon, its good gains, an they cannot hurt eachother, nor can they hurt you, or you to them... it took me a good hour trying to retame them with 2 wild dragons in there lol

Thanks for the help, but I'm still a little confused. Say I'm out in the field provo'ing bulls. Can I keep re-prov'ing the same bulls over and over or do I need to move on to another set. In all the years I've played UO, I've never used any of the bardic skills.

Thanks for the help. :-)

The bardic skills are nothing like taming. You can go to town with the same monsters over and over again. If you want to push through your bardic skills, you should get a boat and go to Papua. Run East of town to the waters edge, and drop the boat in the water. Sail north to Wyvern Isle and park on the southern side of Wyvern Isle. There are about 5 Wyverns spawning there and 2 of them can't get to the other 3 because of a missing small piece of land. As long as you have about 50 in provo, peace, and discord (I think thats the minimum skill to target wyverns), you can raise all 3 to 100 by making them attack eachother across the island divide as well as peace and discord them...

This is especially cool if you are handy with Razor...can do the whole thing over night.

Well 50's not enough Provo to incite the Wyvern's. :-( Guess I'll have to look elsewhere until I can incite them.
