Hey there, not sure if people remember me or not but I was/am known as Gusto Forgeman, I played with my wife Vysantha Dennae on here for a bit and took a break until recently I started to get that UO itch again.

I was reading through the forums looking to see if there was any new content added while I was away and the only 'big' thing I've seen is the addition of 'New Malas' for land purposes. I've read about the some updates like logging out in Fel doesn't let you log into another character (awesome), and a few other things but can anyone give me more?

i'm new not being more than 151 days old, but not being sarcastic but i want to know too. someone said there was a change log? here's something that might have changed from before. haven't varified but heard from reliable source: champ spawn loot (ps) has been changed. something about being only 6 ps total between all the players, who ever does the most damage. i did a mota solo and recieved 1 ps (110). erm... imprisioned pets are the heavy hitters and the pet of choice. doom loot drops changed, and tokuno arties no longer drop in doom. new shops opened up around kento, and a new shopping mall opened. oh lol's having their first fishing contest for cool stuff like +20 stats. come on people what else is new??

good, but you really should make a new post for that. hehehe how long was labor. ok ok just make a new thread. ah yeah i remember when my neice was born. i think i was more hyper than the father. for some reason he wanted to take a nap on the hospital floor.

Can someone post a list of new additions to the shard in the last 3 months? Any new monsters, quests, items etc?

Hmm.. well, there has been a few things that have changed; not much of significance, but it all depends on what is important to you I suppose. There happens to be a change log in the Development subsection of the forum; and you can always refer to the Excelsior Daily. However, here is a direct copy of the change log:

CHANGE Possible to recall out of Felucca, but with mana drain for 3 minutes after a recall
CHANGE Possible to use the pet summoning ball in Felucca, but uses 10 powder (as bracelets of binding do in felucca)

ADD Not possible to login to a character if another character is in Felucca

Yesterday's restart (Saturday, March 20th) featured an upgrade in the support functionality. When you submit a help request (by clicking Help on your paperdoll) you now only have 3 options (general help request, stuck, and language violation report).

The key feature with the upgrade is that, once you submit your page, you can also click the Help button again, and instead of just having the option to cancel or leave the help request, there is now also an option to:
"Remove your help request from the queue, but i wish to be contacted about it when someone is available".
By selecting that option, your request will be moved to a special list of pages that need to be resolved, and whenever someone capable of handling your issue will be online, we will get back to you (probably via PM if we need more info, if you're not online)

Also, if you are paging about something that for example requires a Game Master, but the only staff member online is a Counselor rank, the counselor may move your help request up, so that it will be resolved when a Game Master comes online. And we also have a cool feature to add comments to each help request, so if you give more info to the counselor, they can add the relevant details to the help request itself, so that the person resolving the issue later, might already be able to do it all without asking further questions, or waiting for you to come online.

3. This weekend the server will be changing it's clock to the summer daylight savings time. This will occur on the night from Saturday to Sunday. To be more precise, when the time is 2AM shard time Sunday, it will jump forward to 3PM. There should be no technical issues (like the autumn DST switch where the whole world would freeze for an hour and would require a restart). But just a heads up so you know that, since for the past few weeks the offset between shard time and EST has been 5 hours, it will now be the standard 6 hours again.

Guidelines for opening of the new Malas.

1. The map will open at exactly 23:00 shard time. To see the current shard time, type [time. There will be 3 gates connecting Malas and new Malas, they will be placed very near the world teleporters in: Luna, Mook town, and Umbra.

2. Houses will be built on the order of, First come, First served.

3. If you wish to have a staff member move your house to the new land, you need to first run to the location you would like to move to, and send a page from that location. Your request will not count if you page from a different location. Should there be two people wanting to move to the same location, the person who first sent the page will have the right to have it moved.

4. Staff assisted moving to the new land costs 500k per house (if you have double house, this means it will cost you 1 million). This price will be all until April 15th, 23:59 shard time. After that, it will be the standard 200k.
