IDOC question

Post by zenmonk37 »

One thing I absolutely love about UO is IDOC hunting. Does anyone know if the old houses being destroyed simply fall when they decide to wipe them or do they go through the standard decay process? I'm used to running around the shard and finding a "slightly worn" house and then camping it throughout the week. If they simply drop them instantly when they do their wipes, then do they announce what day they do it.I'm just trying to figure out how to partake in my favorite past-time of IDOC by knowing which houses will come down. Thanks for any info.

Account wipes used to be managed manually, and were announced. I believe this was changed to a more automated method, which I suppose would mean that houses would drop individually and with no warning. I'm not sure, but I do know that houses don't really go IDOC here like the do on OSI -- they don't need to be refreshed and they don't go through the stages of deterioration.

I vaguelly remember something about an automated script that goes out and kills the accounts/houses associated with them if they are x days old without a login...think it was run on sundays.

I really wish they would set the houses to decay on a 5 day period or whatever when they goto clean the account. It is a ton of fun to goto an IDOC event. It's the only thing I miss from the pay shards over Excelsior.
