Excelsior

Hey everyone,

Old time UO player getting a touch of the nostalgia again so Im looking to find the most active server. This was listed as the top on some list I found so I'd like to know what you all think.

What I'm looking for is just a decent and large enough community where I dont feel like I'm playing UO by myself and that I'll actually have something to work towards. Even if it's just a guild with some good active players then I'd be more than happy with that.

There is usually 200+ people on in prime time. Around 150 or so in off hours.

There are some nice "custom" things on this shard that are pretty nifty as well.

and there is usually always an admin type person on to help.

if you have non gm questions you could ask in global by typing [c {txt} or by pming me directly by typing in [pm anarchy. please refrain from silly questions like "can i have your gear" or silly things like that. i don't mind answering your question, but ask in global first, because you'll proly get an answer quicker that way. good luck and see you online.

I came from a shard with less then 20 players on line at a time.. I have to say this is the most active shard i have ever played on.. So many players i doubt you will get to know everyone.. ANd it is the most friendly and helpful shard i have ever seen..

Yeah i would say the community here is quite active. Playerbase is strong. Custom scripts are good, quite regular interesting events, very solid staff, helpful players and heaps of different goals and stuff to set yourself. No skill cap is nice also...

There is no pvp here (my first non-pvp shard) which initially made me sceptical of the server, but you get used to it... at least there aren't gank squads roaming around...

I'd highly recomend giving it a whirl mate, if you need any help getting started just send me a pm ingame (' [pm john warren ')

This is a very active community. As someone else stated above, there's usually anywhere between 150-200 people on all the time. This forum is not as active as the game itself, however. But don't judge the shard by the forum. Many don't even bother coming here to post/read.

I too remember playing on a shard with a player base of 20 and it was a terrible shard. I remember the owners DEMANDING people throw away items because the database size got too large. Then when we were all discussing what was going on the owners began to "shout" at us on game and we figured our chat was being monitored on all levels.

While every shard may have their problems, I feel Excelsior is one of the best available out there. Colibri is professional and doesn't lose his cool. I don't really know any of the other GMs though. Excelsior is also extremely stable with hardly any down time.

Just for fun I noticed that the word "colibri" is in the French dictionary meaning "hummingbird." Came across it by accident the other day while I was at my French course.

step one: show up
step two: die no less than 20 times
step three: ???????
step four: sash
