I just received a shiny Smither's Protector, but I haven't got a clue what's its function. It looks like an ordinary pickaxe, but it says it's an axe when double clicked. Can't mine with it, that's for sure.
Does anyone know what it is supposed to do?

The Protector weapons give you something like a 30% damage bonus if you have 100+ in that skill (Tailoring or Blacksmithy, don't think there are any others), provided the Protector is equipped. I'm pretty sure it was Daat99 thinking, "well wait, woodcutters get a damage bonus for axes.. but what about the other crafters?"
Pretty lame on a shard with no skill cap, if you ask me.

Thanks Blaze!
Doesn't sound like a very usefull weapon. I'll give it to my BOD mule.

I beg your pardon, I also got this thing from the baud rate. According to you I realized that you can throw it out?
