Maybe i might be a little bias?
I have never had a tamer in my 11 years of uo,and now this shard. With that being said, why is it so many people running around with 5 mules or whatever taking over hunting spots?
I find it gimp and weak to result to using pets to get things.Seems everywhere i go you see loads of loose pets or somebody yelling all kill as soon as something spawns.Even in fel,i see this!
In uo i could just kill the person and their pets, but here i cannot do this.
Could it be possible to make a small percent say 5% that the animal will go wild during combat or a more up keep to make them loyal other than "oh its bonded" i can never loose it?
Is there a challenge in fighting with 5 animals or bio's?I maybe can understand like champs in some cases, but i am talking regular spawn.
Tell me what you think.

For most beginners pets come in handy, cause they are strong and kill fast. There are some spawns that you cannot kill without pets if you are relatively new or ill equipped. My ultimate goal is to hunt without my pets... which I am doing more than often nowdays. I only use the bio as my meat shield for one-hit-kills-you mobs or the imps to take down mobs fast before 5+ mobs gang bang me at the same time...
Is not impossible but takes time to get to that level

This shard is designed to be extremely tamer heavy. And it's definitely attracted the types of players that prefer that playstyle.
1.) It's really a very difficult issue to avoid when you're playing with no skill cap; "why not maximize?" etcetc.
2.) With a vast majority of players wanting to play that way (as seen in the plethora of champ spawn threads) it's an uphill battle trying to get any kind of "nerf" put on something so popular.

I watch players die all the time even with all their pets out at normal spawns. I used to try and get taming balanced but in the end it just doesn't seem to matter so why I gave up. I play my own game and my own style, the truth is I just avoid those players.

I enjoy my pets. As I get better gear I tend to use them less but i still enjoy them.

i find it gimp and weak to result to using endgamesuit perma spamming 1.25 a shot sec yumi armorpen arrows hitting for 150-300 damage. >.> putting the troll away non the less, it is quite fair, since controlling your own toon is a hell of alot easier than a pet. and alot of money has to be placed into pets to make them usable. just like an endgame suit.

That's the way. That's the only way to stay sane... I havent killed mel in months because its hard to wade through the sea of nobles and mules that inhabit the blighted grove now...
There are plenty of alternate hunting area's if you search hard enough. Also if you ever become a good enough dexxer you will learn that pets are generally much slower to hunt with and fighting is far more efficient.

I'm sure fighting with maybe yourself and a bio is a lot more efficient - trying to constantly control five pets is a huge pain.
The problem is that you can't exactly just start out on a dex path farming Balrons to buy the gear and stats you need to be a dexxer capable of killing things quickly and efficiently (oh, they'll also kill you, while you're trying).
So, unless you like wasting a lot of time killing ratmen for the millions you'll need to invest to get a bio and the gear you need to stay alive, the most obvious progression path is pets.

Well, i couldn´t understand why the OP is upset coz guys running around with 5 pets. For newbies like me, the pet is the only way to try kill something for raise and farm, also is very fun ( in my point of view ) play with pets, but can be a nightmare control all them.
Now , the OP said about "those" guys taking over hunting spots, there lot of places, just pick another spot. and the fact that you can´t PK the poor guy ( that is justing having fun ) and his pets here isn´t a good reason for complain about mules or how things work here.
Sorry if my reply looks little rude, but i really can´t understand why some ppl "hurts" for the others playstyle.
Take care

heh I was at mel yesterday, it was a ghost town.. it all depends when you are trying to do something.. I find if its peak time its best to use your alternate means of money generation or activities generally.. peak time you can expect lineups at alot of the popular stuff..
its like going to disneyworld.. there might be a line for big thunder mountain... doesn't mean you have to wait you can always go to the country bear jamboree (ok well thats not much of a tradeoff but you get the point)
