The upgraded Twisted Weald

I like that twisted weald was updated with beefed up pre peerless npcs but it may be a little over tweaked. I know there are a lot of gamers who camp this spot non stop but i think you misunderstand when gamers on ex say they want more medium or team based hunting locations.

Monsters that 1 shot you are not team based monsters, it lacks creativity depth and more.

a team monster would be something like say.....

a Monster or Champion that requires more than 1 person to kill it in under 10 - 15 minutes ( Lots of Health )

Now here's where creativity and depth comes in and inspires more team work. Imagine for example a champion doesn't do much damage so its not life threatening but instead it periodically stuns OR stuns you for 20 full seconds making you lose control of your character. In this amount of time the marginal damage said champion or monster did before is now life threatening and requires assistance. This is where you require assistance from others where your friend would either need to sacrifice and take a hit for you or start spam healing you so you dont die.

To counter the el oh el mode with pets you could incorporate even pet slayers on these monsters or champions, set them up so they 1 shot bios, imps, and or heck even anything tamed. I'm sure you could work this out even though it would take a little bit of coding.

^ Creativity and Depth.

Simply making something one shot or half shot everything is lack luster and boring and also brings out the idea of hey quantity over quality.

The other day +Chaos when i mentioned more moderate good hunting locations. I was referring to places like fel T2a, T2a, or MORE ! If you roam the world of Excelsior UO you'll notice there are a LOT of spawns but most are pointless for a moderate hunter which most of ex is. Instead of having spawns of hinds or spawns of birds in random locations like T2a how about Shadow Wyrms, Maybe a Ancient Lich << Maximum, Dragons, Matriarchs, and more?

You dont want to make everything Anarchy and Nelapsi tough because that doesn't appeal to a large quantity of EX.

This would alleviate a large part of hunting and bring more fun.

After that creativity and depth would be awesome, truely unique champions and or monsters that require a large time investment and team work. A monster that would take even as much as a half hour to kill and was on a 4-6 maybe even 10-12 hour timer that would require 5-10 people. That would be awesome. No pets and make the reward worth the effort. No one wants to waste 100k arrows for nothing ! this would be tiiiight.

anyway this is my 2c, I personally like the change and i can handle it just concerned there are others who wont be able to that should have a fair chance there. A little over tuned could use just a little tweaking. I have 330 health and malefic can 3 shot me. 2 shots my unointed imps. I pulled out the max mules for that spot and handled it well but meh still rather just go mining and craft.

I agree that it's not the most creative solution but i do think that it makes the area aimed towards more mid range players rather than any old noob with a single pet hunting there... Like you said at the end it took you a couple of strategies to do the job. Its now nowhere near as easy for mid-range players.

I think that its an improvement overall.

I honestly did not find the area that much different, sure a few more hit points on the monsters and a few graphic changes but nothing even made me blink.

This area has been Nelapsi Approved for Mid Range to High Mid Range encounters

hehe

I love the changes too, I have seen several players hold their own up there in the last two days. A good ranged weapon and avoiding to be flagged by more than one tuff monster does the trick pretty well.

There are not many places that give a real challenge to the seasoned player. A few Peerless dungeons and the umbris area are all that comes to my mind. I beleive that the peerless dungeons should all be very tuff places. It would give the younger players incentive to work hard to build up their character and be able to survive thoses places.

Personally, I would like to see similar boosts applied to Dreadhorn, all foes in doom gauntlet, skrat and the rat mage in sactuary.

When I compare uoex to the actual EA shards, I see that the monsters AI makes it infinitly easier here. We don't have to deal with being cursed, poisoned, strangled, etc. It comes a time when the vets don't have many choices if they want a challenge when they go hunt.

My 2 cents.
:)

Anyway, i won't give new players suggestion to farm gold and weapons at Twisted Weald anymore. A new player with two or three maxxed mules can't survive there.

i love the upgrade i think it's mostly for people in mid-ranged warriors and pets tamers.

also....i am 1 person if all the places were meant for others i'd be super happy. if i wanted a challenge i would go on my alt character and do things. :Þ

but i like the new upgrade
