The Other World

Ok, so pretty much gave this idea a couple of whole nights of thinking, so please don’t hurt my feelings with your comments… J/K, I don’t have any feelings :D

So, here it goes: You know when you log in, that there is this “tab” that says Excelsior, the one that like lets you choose your shard… well take that as the world select tab. After that you access your char screen and later on you enter the game.
Imagine there would be another option in that screen apart from Excelsior, a wicked world called with an attractive name like Call for Heroes or Brave New World.

I’d picture this world as an annex or a different dimension of Excelsior, a wild domain where Player killing is the way of life, where there are clans of Player killers constantly struggling between each other, a place where the Titan’s hammer spawns once a day at a random time but there is a constant fight around its spawn place by the people who await his appearance (instead of a constant camping for it).

In this wild world, there are no Excelsior dollars, gold coins are once again the way of paying, but!, there are still the Excelsior dollar items available, but this time , you can buy em for a low price in gold coins, so everyone can have it all and gear up for player versus player combat.

Weapons are leveled super fast via killing other players, that way you can gather yourself a good couple of level 100 weapons and relayer them into armor to make your struggle through this new world a tiny bit easier.
Once you enter this world you have to create a new character and you can’t use your characters from Excelsior, which doesn’t mean you lose em, you just can’t use em in this brave new world.

All of the options from Excelsior are available here, except for few ones like bee hiving because it would make no sense, since they give too much profit. All quests like the mage inquisitor’s quest would be available for you to get geared up like you normally would in Excelsior. All of this with a couple of rules or more than that, specifications.

Let me explain that in this annex: For example, if you’re in the new world’s Bedlam, you can’t get killed because that would lead to people camping those spots and killing all the players trying to kill the Grizzle, so you would get a timer of 40 minutes when you enter Bedlam so you can be free to run inside and kill all of what you need to kill to get that gem, and when the time is up, without any warning will get teleported in the middle of the Battle Zone, you can avoid that, by exiting the place before your time runs out.

When it comes to champs, it should work kind of like this: once the champ is activated (on) the place is a peace zone for everyone to cooperate and kill it like a family, but once it is over, it becomes a giant struggle to save your PS’s and the cash you won while doing it.

If the champ system would not work, there could be vendors that sold the PS’s for regular amounts of gold, cause since there is no need for animal lore and all that stuff (well at least not for pvp) you would only need the combat PS’s.
Bless deeds are the way to go here, so they should be very cheap, I’ll explain the gold system in a few more minutes of reading, so just grab on to your seats.

The magic of this? All players will reach a peak where their armor could not get any better and all they would have to improve would be their skills in player versus player combat.
Imagine that the first week in this hell hole, is pretty much like being young in Excelsior, you can’t get ultra killed, you get some (if not a lot) of help, training room, starters bonuses, and anything else there could be to help you, but after that, you’re on your own buddy.

Since these are different characters, you can change your nickname from the one you use at Excelsior so people won’t recognize you and ultimately won’t hate you because you gave em a rough time in a duel.
It’s like fight club (the movie), because inside of this world you just fight, but like “no strings attached” so it’s all good if you get killed or kill another player, actually is what this world is about.

The game really starts after this week of soft-core training with butterflies and teddy bears, after that it is biting on the pin of your grenade and cocking your pistol to be ready ‘cause you can’t start leveling weapons until you start killing players.
Imagine you get 5k from killing Paroxysmus in this world and 20k for killing another player. Bless deeds are like 2k and a relayer deed is something between 300 – 500k, that way you maintain a balance.

I guess to make things a little more sane for all, you can’t get killed in your own house (Houses are the pre made ones and the prices are the same ones that they come with, so it takes a while before you can get a house. No custom houses and the plot join deed is strictly restricted, and only available for guilds.) Two houses per account, with a capacity to increase to 3 max.
The leveling system should work something like this: 1 Player kill, one level. So a level 100 bow should land you close to a relayer (1 kill per level, 20k per kill, 300 – 500k a relayer)

*Note: Hit area would not work in pvp, because if you think of the consequences, it’d be disastrous for a player with 17 relayers to hit every player in his screen in the battle zone*

I think drops on looted weapons faster if not the same as Excelsior and here a 5x58 with dispel will actually be a 5x58, and not a 4x58 :P I’m just saying…

Ok, regarding pets I came to a blank… I think for mob boss fights they’d be alright but for pvp they should remain useless. Same runs for Bio pets. Face it, not even the god, +Colibri himself could handle a 10 pack of ointed imprisoned pets… lol: P

Well I know this far it seems like a crazy idea Rain had but if you look it this way it’d be beneficial for the shard in general.
Why do I say this? Cause if you split the amount of players on the shard, and sort em to the new world you erase those problems with people complaining about their spot/kill being stolen, or even worse, the lack of spots to level up weapons. Why? Cause half of the people that had or were making problems went to the new world to kill each other and the rest can level up their weapons quietly and peacefully.

This also presents a benefit for all vets who are bored of the same routine, the high price of stuff, and this place also conditions newcomers for the fights they are gonna experience in Excelsior, cause I can assure you, fighting another player that has some relayers on must be similar to soloing Paroxysmus.

This also maintains the idea of Excelsior being a family shard since there is no obligation to enter this new world and since there is no cursing there (OBVIOUSLY THERE IS NO CURSING HERE, WHY WOULD YOU EVEN THINK YOU COULD CURSE HERE! My god, mercy, mercy, mercy…)(LOL) And I’m sure that if you don’t want to play in this new world people will receive you in the other world with open arms and a baby penguin :D (Just kidding about the baby penguin, although it’d be awesome).

Hope at least someone likes this idea, I know it’s almost sure It’s never gonna happen cause staff is always busy, but we can always hope all the +Staff falls in love with this idea and work as a giant family of honest working people to make it happen lol :D

Sounds like you got a dream to make a shard of your own. The only way it's going to happen is if you make it yourself. Not intended as a flame, just my thoughts.

Yah, i know it sounds that way, but, wouldn't it be awesome to have both sides of the coin in the same shard?

I agree, however creating what your talking about is an insane amount of work to make it happen. +C is so busy, just trying to get a small script added is next to impossible.

the problem with this is that when you reach a level of gear intensity (insta dex/high hps) it becomes a stand off between 2 players (unless you know what your doing :) then it becomes luck). it will invite ganking. but what i would like to see is maybe spawn the pvp dungeon with really fast spawning liches. :) so you could go in there to level a weapon but at a risk. :)

Well, of course you would enter this world stripped of all your uberness... then, make your way in survivalist fashion.

I love the idea! ..but I tend to love anything pvp/pk oriented... even if I suck at it now :P

i love this too but you could start naked and still reach a level of uberness. when i played on pk shards i saw a lot of ganking and i was the one that did most of the ganking. then the drama occurs. you know what i mean.

Well lots of problems with this.... If leveling weapons is uber fast via killing players whats to stop 2 people from just wacking eachother all day WAM few hours 10 maxxed t-hammers.... thats just one of the things i dont see working to well =/
