Enchanted Leash

There is a new type of leash, the enchanted leash. It requires 125 wax to craft, over 117 taming skill and 126 animal lore skill. The wonder of this leash is that it will shrink all pets within 6 tiles of you. Also comes with 100 charges. It consumes one charge for every pet that it shrinks (so if you have 5 pets out, and use it, it will consume 5 charges).
Also, the regular leash now requires 10 wax to craft.
While seeming a good idea to combat inflation, or giving us incentive to spend a little bit more gold to take from the economy... We end up spending 10x for 5 seconds of 'convenience'. Lets look at it from my perspective..., using rounded easy
FAKE numbers, which should be somewhat close to actual ratios...
wax - say 100 per for easy maths
leash = 10 wax @ 100 per = 1000 gold to make (ignoring other ingredients 10 leather, 25 iron ingots)
we get 100 charges so we can
shrink 100 pets for 1000 gold (FAKE wax cost)
enchanted leash = 125 wax @ 100 per = 12500 (ignoring the other ingredients 10 leather, 25 iron ingots)
we get 100 charges so we can
shrink 100 pets for 12,500 gold (FAKE wax cost)
now... if we spend the SAME amount of gold, we can shrink 1250 (12,500 gold / 10 leashes with 100 charges) pets with normal leashes, or 100 (12,500 gold per enchanted leash) with the enchanted leash.
While the convenience is NICE, i don't think its worth 10x the price of a normal leash to shrink 1/10th the amount of pets.
If it was 1 charge per use, rather than per pet, 10x the price might be a little more reasonable...
If it was 1 charge per use, and 2-3x the price of a regular leash, id use em all the time....
If not, i ll just continue using normal leashes, because the other way just don't make sense to me.
Thoughts?

The obvious answer is one common to all economies. if people will buy it, they thus consider it "worth it" some people have a large enough income that they consider either price reasonable, and will pay for the added convenience.

This new array of devices we see are invented to fill in a purpose.
Convenience has always cost us more, in game and out of the game.
However, If we consider that saving time can become money, then we can understand why it was perhaps created.
I see these trinkets being created out of purpose primarilly, the economy battle being a secondary effect.
Convenience being stated as a good thing serves to enforce that a steep price should be paid in turn.
Having said that, can't you set up a macro with razor that shrinks your pets?
It takes a short moment to call your pets and have them shrink as per your commands.
Must be a specific place the big leash is useful for otherwise it would not have been created, and my guess
is it's lucrative enough that it would be a small price to pay for increase in performance.

I may be wrong, but i figured it was to take some wax out of the economy on an item people used all the time, rather than just hive robes, and such that once you have, you generally don't need more of. That being said, If there is another use other than shrinking pets, please let me know. If not, i already stated i would gladly pay 2-3x the cost for the convenience. But 100x (10x cost x 1/10th uses) is a bit much.

ill continue to pay for the convenience, if you cant then maybe you need to think about raising your own bees to make your own? I only say this because it sounds to me like you want to be using the enchanted pet leashes, but dont want to pay for them.

I was crafting these Enchanted leashes and selling them on my vendor but I stopped. I cant bring myself to pay 40k to make the leash and then have to charge 45k to sell it. I think I agree with Asmodean about the ratio and cost difference. It cost about 3k to make a regular leash and 40k to make an Enchanted one. I am looking at this from the viewpoint of a shop owner. I think that the amount of wax needed to produce an Enchanted Pet Leash should be more around the 50ish mark bringing down the production cost to a more reasonable amount.
I can sell my wax to the bee keeper for 292 gold each which means that in order to produce and sell one pet leash it cost me around 38k. In order to make it worth the effort lets add 2k for profit and call it 40k per Enchanted pet leash. If the amount of wax was dropped to 50 that would make the production cost 15k and we could sell them for 17k.
I just don't think anyone in their rite mind is going to pay 40k extra to save themselves an extra click or two on the mouse. I cant move my leashes at this price.
Now that I have said that I know someone is just itching to reply "Then don't sell enchanted pet leashes" but don't say it. The fact is, it doesn't make a lot of sense to have such a large price difference between regular leashes and enchanted ones.

i use razor. dclick normal leashes. wait for target, target type ferrets.
never tried setting 1 macro for each then button mash RAWR. problems with this is if there are other ferrets around you might have to hit your macro button a few times
