New Destard? I'm at work and UO is still a long way off What new destard? What's up I'm curious?

Well my 'net died last night before I could make an official post (which I will do in a few minutes). But, I saw this and wanted to say thanks for all the appreciation, it's always wonderful to see the players excited by something we've done. Especially something that is tediously boring work and takes lots of discussion/planning on how to keep it all balanced - makes it all worth the effort

More dungeons will be revamped soon, I'm waiting on Colibri's approval for the next one. Might be an announcement later today if he does

Checked it out tonite, very cool. There wasnt many mobs to kill because several people were there, but im sure that will die down after a few weeks.

ok just went through destard, and from just the second level alone i picked up 14k gold. not too bad, but i noticed that the shadow dragon and the ancient wrym drops the same amount of gold. o.O

destard is now a lot of fun again, but i don't think level 1 should have been changed. all the new players trying things like breeding and taming. i went there to level up my nobles a long time ago, and seeing how it's in there now....i'd need a pet bonding deed instead of just leveling them without one. ah well.


i would love to see every level from 2 and down get this type of improvement. thank you +Nyx and the rest of the staff for all your hard work.

It is called a training room or a trainer, if I recall you did get a training room from a grand auction.

yeah i level my nobles there now, but the newer people who can't donate; now will have trouble leveling up their nobles/tame dragons at destard.

don't get me wrong more mobs to me is like a little love on the cheek. but this game wasn't meant just for me to enjoy.

ah well.

I'm a little disappointed you think I'd forget/neglect the newbs, Anarchy! =P

We're planning to add in some more newbie quests both in the newbie dungeon as well as for the various dungeons we revamp, to help them get up and going a bit quicker. I personally don't think that there will be too much trouble in level 1 for newbies, since the vets will still be going in there to get leather / tame for bods / etc, as always. There's just more chance of stuff being there for newbs to take advantage of, too. However, if it seems like I'm wrong in this then we'll do what we can to remedy it.
