Last night while changing my weapon during a champ spawn, it disappeared. I have asked around and many people seem to have experienced the same issue. After speaking with +Coli and recovering my weapon (3mil tokens) he said there have been aleast 200 tests done on this and there is a 0.01% percent chance that its a bug. I didnt get an explanation as to what happened to my weapon. So, the point is to find out what is causing this to happen and warn others about this issue. Obviously this shouldnt happen and there must be a cause. Sure it may be the cause of some players actions making it their fault. Please be reassured this is not an attack against +Coli as he was very helpfull. The goal is for players to respond to this post if it has happened to them in detail. Maybe with enough response this will be looked into more and prevent players from having to spend to recover items that were lost not due to their own actions. Thanks for reading and your support.

I was in Fel Destard, the weapon was an Item type changed war hammer, insured, moved from hand to backpack manually.

Well, the thing is that, I have looked into so many such issues, and even if i took an hour or a few hours to find what happened, i was always able to find a reason for the disappearance.

Lost items are a constant thing here, and it's always being reported as a bug, and after looking into so many situations just to find it wasn't insured or not locked down or something like that, always taking the time to try and find that bug and then finding that I've just wasted time, I am no longer looking into these things.

I had a weapon seem to "disappear" many times, only to find it back in my backpack either a few minutes later or after re-logging. While not the same as the situation described above it still causes a bit of a scare when it happens, so I decided to post it.
Sometimes when an item that is drag-dropped, usually backpack->paperdoll, it simply disappears. It doesn't appear to be equipped nor is it in the backpack. Basically what happens is that the item in question gets invisibly 'stuck' in the dragging, just as if you were holding it on your cursor. The d&d request somehow queued but somehow never executes. There are two solutions - either wait it out (d&d has a few minute timeout) and after time the item will appear in your backpack (with a message that d&d timed you). Or re log into your game, the item should re-appear as well.

(Anything below is pure speculation on my part)
I have noticed it to happen mostly at champs, so my assumption is that it has something to do with looting a body that disappears. Specifically - when the body disappears as you are dragging an item from it, which would probably make Razor queue up an empty drag action and not finish it, because there would be nothing to drop. Of course looting using a script might have the same results (though less probable, as the script tends to execute d&d a lot faster than a human does by hand).
Other than that it may be something to do with Scavenger (trying to pick stuff up while Scav is doing so might make Razor go nuts?).
While I have failed to reproduce that exact behaviour, there is a way to observe something similar. In your Razor >> More Options set Object delay to something high (like 80000ms) and try to move around a couple of items - they will disappear similarly, only to appear when the delay has passed. Remember to set your delay back after you're done testing.

actually there was a bug awhile ago but i don't think it is the cause this time. but Ilsanor is right. there was a bug including razor and scavenge used to disarm with the skill and throw and arrow down at the same time. razor would cancel out the item being disarmed and would pick up the arrow. the weapon would then be lost, sadly this is a timing thing and only could be done with a macro. but that was a long time ago and i thought they fixed that. the delay on carry cast heal on self. the item will then pop back into your pack, or should. i've lost weapons before. one time i lost a titan hammer bow in umbris. I thought i had enough money in the bank for insurance (awhile ago). then i learned that you could retrieve items for 100 eds, but then it was too late. ah well. nothing like losing a 1600 eds weapon (with weapon change deed).

ah well i'm sure i'll get another erm... no i won't ah well

If an item disappears after moving it:

In razor if you goto >Hot keys >Misc. >Resynchronize Client and click execute selected (or bind it to a hotkey and click that hotkey) it will often fix that issue. Will also fix the issue when your character is 'out of sync' with the world, aka he is off by a tile and can walk through some walls and such but only that one tile.

Thanks to all that gave input on what happened and it seems to have added up to be because of an attack script in easyuo that made my wep dissapear while switching. Thought I would let everyone know to stop an attack script before switching. Good luck all.

Well, it is still a bug within the game itself. EUO does not modify anything in UO directly - it just sends specific commands. The power to delete an item is way beyond it capabilities. I can imagine the EUO can make an item *look* as if it disappeared, but the physical deletion can only be handled by the client-server. And it's one of those things that I'd love to see fixed.

What could and probably happened is while easyuo was doint its cursor m oves, he might have been trying to move the thing while clicking on the screen and could haev even had auto open corpses up for fast looting. Therefore when he went to do somethign else, the razor dropped it possibly in a corpse while he was having the auto opener or the [claim fucntion on or something while champing or IT last targeted a corpses and went in, Ive seen it happenwith others, also, why i always say to use razor auto dress thing for changing between weapons, especially at a champ where it couldl fall in a corpse and said corpse dissapear immediatly from the champ running. Because easyuo does not Change anything in uo, Doesnt mean its not doing weird things, Ive lost things in que and had to log off and back on because of some easy uo scripts. And Almost lost a Gravedigger shovel with 1k uses on it due to what I just said usually happens, i went to move it, and the script therw it on a corpse. Luckily it was a corpse that wasnt going anywhere

Guess the rule of thumb should be - don't let scripts handle any items that you'd want to risk losing.
