Worth doing?

Hey all.
I know this has been asked many many times, but I am going to ask it anyway hoping for a definitave answer.
Curretly (according to Nabor stats)I am as follows:
Code: Select all
Damage Increase: 60%
Swing Speed Increase: 30%
Hit Chance Increase: 17%
Hit Lightning: 40%
Hit Mana Leech: 31%
Hit Stamina Leech: 50%
Hit Lower Defense: 48%
Lower Reagent Cost: 93%
Lower Mana Cost: 19%
Faster Cast Recovery: 1
Spell Damage Increase: 8%
Physical Resist: 89%
Fire Resist: 72%
Cold Resist: 105%
Poison Resist: 77%
Energy Resist: 79%
Dexterity Bonus: 17
Strength Bonus: 15
Intelligence Bonus: 7
Hit Point Regeneration: 4
Stamina Regeneration: 3
Mana Regeneration: 2
Hit Point Increase: 4
Mana Increase: 14
Insured: 14
Luck: 470
Reflect Physical Damage: 18%
I am leveling a Darkened Sky (currently at L25ish with nothing spent) and an old crafted Yumi at Level 39 with points spent running with:
Code: Select all
Physical Resist: 15%
Cold Resist : 14%
Damage Increase: 35%
Hit Lightning: 40%
Hit Lower Defence: 48%
Hit Mana Leech: 31%
Hit Stamina Leech: 50%
I was planning on taking Lightning and and Mana Leech to 50% at least, adding 8 Dex to it, then seeing whats available, also using an SR5 deed, and making it 1 handed (once I can afford all the EDs that is).
Now would this be worthwhile, or should I just level it in the hope that I find something better :/
I'm in no rush to be decked out in loads of top end gear, and am quite happy plodding along, but any insights would be welcome.
The whole plethora of things to relayer/level is rather daunting at times.

Maybe you should start with defining what is the purpose of the weapon that you are leveling. If you are talking about leveling a weapon as your main money making tool or leveling for the purpose of making a relayer then the buffs to add on the weapon are totally to slightly different.
Lets take your crafted bow for instance, most players will agree (correct me if I am wrong) that you should have:
Hit lighting 50%
Hit Mana Leech 50%
Hit Lower Defence 50%
Hit Stamina Leech 50% (you already have that)
Ideally add:
Dex +8 if you are not at 220 Dex so you get closer to 220
Str +8 and drop Dex +8 if you are already at or above 220 Dex without equipping the bow
HP +8
If points left:
Hit Life Leech or Hit Fireball
SDI 20
I wouldn't bother spending 500ED's to make it one handed weapon cause I am pretty sure you will find a better bow with more room for more buffs. Instead apply the 500ED's for a relayer.

I'd disagree. It's a weapon, not a relayer. The main point of a weapon is to to damage. So maximizing any Hits should take priority over character stats. Especially if it's not a stop-gap weapon but something meant to serve for a considerable length of time. It's already gimped on spending points because it's crafted, why waste them on character stats which can be put on relayers?

Ideally yes, but if he is going to level that "beginner" weapon, one that he will replace later. He could probably benefit it the short term with the +8/+8
But, to the OP, everyone has their own thought a bit on how to spend those last few points.

That would suggest he's not thinking about it as a beginner weapon. On a beginner weapon stats are cool, as long as you don't put stats only instead of hits. I'd say that OP should level this for now, since it's not a bad piece for mid-game, but hold off on slapping anything ED on it. It's just not that good. Look for a nice 46 or 58 looted piece, with weapon change in mind. It's expensive, but if you find a nice piece and use your head when you're spending points the you'll have an end-game weapon.
ps. There is a utility - Stig's weapon planner in Coding Talk section. You can use it to nicely see what you can and what you can't do with a given weapon.

Thanks for the input guys.
Looks like saving the EDs it s until something better comes along.
