Relayeratronic

I would just like to say, before i get into my rant, that this shard rocks the casbah....
my issue is with relayer deeds
The cost of these deeds is rather expensive in real life terms, especially in countrys that don't have the best exchange rates( yet the average wages are similar in dollar terms to other countrys)
These are essential items that rival GOC items, yet in order to obtain a sufficent ammount within a year would make purchasing them more expensive than a years subscription to other MMORPGs.
Maybe relayer deeds could be drops from something?
This shard is the shizzel and i do donate so im not trying to get something for nothing........

Excellent rant but I would like to point out that some of our most prominent players are able to farm enough gold to buy 1-6 of those deeds in a months time. Which is much less time then it would take to level all 1-6 of those items for relayering. :D

Just my 2 cents.

+1

I personally did this with half a set of GoC gear and a set of fresh imps. Now it's not even a problem, but I also only wear relayers. I've donated, but all I've bought with them was house deeds. So don't want anyone to think I'm against it.

honestly I have said this over and over... the 25 mill or so for a relayer deed seems huge when you look at the number from 0 but leveling smartly and choosing to balance speed with gold earned you can easily make that cash in the time it takes to get from level 1 - 100 as in.. put the leveling deed on hunt till its level 100 be disciplined about not letting the gold burn a hole in your pocket trying to escape and at lvl100 affording the deed is no problem.. just get more creative than hunting liches

EDIT: also don't forget bees can give about 150k per week if done correctly

The cost of relayers is pretty outrageous. But then, the ability to relayer custom stats onto parts of your paperdoll that would otherwise not have stats is itself outrageous .... ly awesome!

I've been grinding away levelling my first weapon in preparation for my first relayer. I'm in no way l33t, though I do macro and script most clicky bits of combat. My little Wind's Edge is not yet level 20, and I've already acquired a fairly substantial amount of gold and will probably have the 25 million or so when I get the thing to level 100.

Maybe the cost of relayers should be lowered. However, it does seem as though they are in reach of the industrious newbie.

Re-layers aren't all that expensive really, even if they seem so now. Find something other players dislike doing, but will pay for, and do that to earn all the gold you will ever need. Don't forget to actually take the time to loot any corpses you are killing. Loot the gems, the scrolls, the leather, and sell them. It may take you longer in the beginning, but you will quickly pick up speed as you are able to kill faster, and loot less. Most of the time these days, i just [claim, and do quite fine :)

Maybe I am the only one, I certainly hope so, but the one relayer I made came with a big problem. My original Item had 50% hit chance increase, but once I relayered it, I lost 40% of that and was back to 10% hit chance increase, the initial amount for the weapon I relayered into a shield. I am not sure what caused this and, despite several efforts, can not recieve Any sort of help other than 'we'll let Colibri know'
Just a warning to others that this may happen, and a plea for any advice on what may have caused this.

That seems really odd. Does the item actually only say 10% HCI? or does your stat script not count the 50%?

As to the cost of relayers... Someone already said it. Relayers grant extremely powerful effects and stats. Their price should, and does, reflect that. Additionally it gives you some end game goals to work towards. If your character started with 5 relayer deeds for free it would be an extremely boring shard. The fact that these higher end items do cost ~25mil plus the item/weapon means you always have something to aim for.

This is how I see it... you need to get from point A to point B. You can either 1) take a cab to get there faster or 2) take the bus or public transportation. You will eventually arrive to point B it's just a matter how bad you want to get there.

Like some of us that did it before, the relayers = challenge. Besides, to enjoy this shard you don't have to be relayered from head to toe.

Some cities it's much faster to take the metro than to take a cab or bus

I carry no weapon relayers and found myself pretty active and competitive in this game. However, I understand the desire to have relayers and also the reason why relayer deeds cost 500 ED. Almost everyone wants to be powerful and +Colibri likes the cash flow. If you highly desire to be ultra uber, then it will cost you either in time or money, most likely both. You can do it without the money, just it will take a lot more time. If it was easy, quick or cheap to attain these lofty items, then this shard would be crashing and burning in no time. The fact that it takes effort, time and patience to achieve each piece I feel is one of the reasons that this shard has maintained its status all these years. I think only a handful of players have bought their way to uber status. The rest of them I am pretty sure are proud of their accomplishments.
