Excelsior

Is it down or what? I've been sitting at verifying for a few hours now.

Sometime late last night (or early this morning if you will), it went down...even got a message saying "The server has crashed" rather than something like "the world will save in one minute." Never actually seen that one before.

Any word out there on how the repairs are going? *patiently relaxes somewhere in Limbo*

Hopefully Coli will log on and see how everything is going cause +Aurora said she was going to be gone this weekend.

"The server has crashed" isn't all that suprising, it happens occasionally, it will show up in your Journal if you don't notice it actually went down while playing and are trying to figure out what's going on.

Still down? I tried to log in yesterday afternoon and was hung up in varifying account. Bummer!

Yeah, me too.. tried to log in and got stuck... I finally have my time back to play and this happens, lol.... I was all excited this morning to get up and not have an agenda.... I was like, "Yes! UO time!" Then..... my world came crashing down (no pun intended).... I hope it is fixed soon, as Colibri is out of town

You know with all this time of not being able to play on Excelsior i've found that other shards SUCK. I've hopped around a few shards and found that none of them can compair and the staff on some are down right *BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPS* so I hope we can get the shard back up soon.. till then back back to playing ol Majesty

I seem to having a different problem. I don't think the shard is crashed. In Gateway I had 3 different servers I had accounts on. While Excellsior was down I could get on the other two. I tried the fix listed here in the forums to eliminate the hang up on verify account. I uninstalled UO and did the ML download etc.
Now I have the same problem with all shards. I can't access any of them.

Mm...that fix about being able to patch up past 5.0.6 and still log in with gateway you mean? I never could get that to work right and sure enough I'd still hang up on verifying. Try reinstalling and not patching too far, the other shards should work again.

Unfortunately our fine shard looks like it'll be down for a while. Oh well...

Hey all.

The server and I would like to apologise for the long downtime. There's this problem that the server has only 1GB ram, and together with some ram-freeing utility, it ran out of virtual memory (pagefile).

Although the server restarts itself, that new instance of it doesn't accept connections properly. That's why you get stuck at verifying account.

It's online now, the page file is at 80% but maybe it will work. I hope that it will. I would actually have to restart the whole server, but since i'm not phisically there, it might not set itself online properly, that's why it's less risk not to restart and hope for the best.


As for my vacation, i'm having a nice time. I'm currently in an "internet point" in Rovinj, Croatia. Which is not far from my camp site... I frequently go to visit my girlfriend who is about 30km - 45 minutes drive from my place. Apart from chilling out we like to explore a military fortress from WW 1 and 2.
I've also connected to the internet so i can load some codecs - i took some movies with me but forgot to install codecs for them

Have fun everyone, and I hope everything works properly. I will go home on the 31st of July, maybe even a day or two sooner. But i will connect again in probably less than one week, to check if the server is still up.

I am glad you are having fun, Colibri I logged into the shard today! Works fine, thank goodness... It's funny that the time that I was unable to actually log in, was the time when I was actually available to play, lol... But it's working now, and I'm still free Continue to have a good time, and a safe trip home!

Colibri! Dude! Glad your vacation is well... Where are you going to post the pics/video? I would love to see them when you get them online somewhere...

Yup, tried some other shards, but nothing matches the lively and friendly little community we have here... Looking forward to playing again soon...
