well, the title says my suggestion for a special event.

You guys should have a walking dead event! lol

Like give characters only certain "survival" items, such as bows, katanas, bandies, etc (have no abilities not associated with a
'realistic" experience, like magery and stuff)
and just have zombies take over certain parts of the world (so not to interfere with anyone that doesnt want to participate)

If a character dies, they turn into a zombie, until killed by another non zombified player. But the zombies have to be killed multiple times, and resurrect after an established period of time unless if you are able to incorporate special head shots, or whatever really kills a zombie

I was thinking about this too. Very fast, hard hitting zombies. Maybe taking over britain or something.

Whyever reminds me of the cow-level in Diablo.
But the strengh of cows need to be adjusted carefully.

Could be funny to create such, with an area in front of to gather some normal weps and EQ to make it equal for all players. No own EQ, pets, ethys.
But also no buffed event EQ...just normal ones.
I think, a bit "back to basics" is needed and can be funny too.

Would be a fun event. Gate in with no armor, weapons, and spells are disabled. You have to scavenge your armor and weapons. Wonder if it is possible once you die, you lose all weapons and armor and gain the ability to PvP as a "zombie"

Yea I think it would be fantastic! These are all great ideas! How do we pitch it to the admins?

all good ideas but it would be a hard sell for the admins, currently the admins are working on the final touches to a patch that will expand our shards items, add new lands, and add new challenges. this event wouldn't be something they could whip up in the spare time. making the dead zombies is something that i am not so sure the staff can do on this shard. that would really take alot of specialized scripting done by colibri and he doesnt have time for it with his current pile of work to do. when i was a young player staff did create a cool undead bash event that was basicly for leveling weapons. they loaded an island with zombies ghouls and all other types of undead. then they put a gate up and the players went in and went nutz. there was no prizes at the end of the event it was just created to be something different that we could do for the day. but like i said that was within the last 2 years. staff have random type events but nothing that would cause them to change the rules of an area or the scripting of the game. those types of events take months to plan out and do.

look at fel brit if u dont believe that it would take an extra long time to do an event like what your suggesting. it has been like that so long some people dont know why its blocked off.

actually....yea...lol. i was wondering why fel brit is blocked off, still being a new player myself, still figuring things out.
it is crazy when you think of just a handful of people that make a free shard work this long, and be so popular. i mean I have played at least 6 different shards, and they all are great when they open, but after no time at all theres no one left. Its nice to log in every day and see at least 130 players on, and to think just a handful of people make it happen, and in their free time at that.

i know i keep saying how much i love this shard, but hey, i love this shard =] everyone is great.
