Jailed.
Jailed.
So, today I was jailed for AFK hunting. I admit, AFK hunting is bad and should be punished. But I don't think people should be jailed for AFK hunting if they don't, well, ...hunt.
I was standing in a dungeon surrounded by a bunch of skeletons, zombies and wraiths, playing them a song to train peacemaking and healing myself with bandages all the time. While this happy party was happening on one screen, I was watching a movie on other when suddenly something happened. First thought - I'm dead. But no, I'm pretty much alive only more jailed than usual. Apparently I missed an AFK check and got jailed for AFK hunting. To tell the truth, I wasn't paying attention to AFK checks since I wasn't killing nor looting corpses, just playing music and healing myself which, as fas as I know, is fine by rules. After paging GM that I'm not guilty, I got an answer that there were corpses near me and they are killed by me because of Reflect Physical Damage on my shield. Often there were players passing by killing few mobs and then going away. Well, I wasn't aware of Damage reflection so I did my 5 prison jobs and went back to the same dungeon to check if it's possible to kill mobs with the shield. What I found out was that not only it is impossible to kill a mob with this shield, I couldn't even scratch them. The shield does 1 HP damage every 5-10 seconds which is way too few to kill a mob. So basically I was jailed for standing in a dungeon with a random corpse near me.
All I'm asking now, is that this doesn't count as my first violation since I wasn't AFK killing mobs nor gathering resources/gold/tokens.

Missing an afk Check .. Any afk check is against the rules ...To tell the truth, I wasn't paying attention to AFK checks since I wasn't killing nor looting corpses,
Afk checks happen when ever you are in a situation or an area where being well AFK is not allowed ...
If there are mobs around that are killable... and you are not At the Keyboard ... Then it's against the rules ... Working Peacemaking and such is not something that is allowed to be worked up while afk...
Just thought I would let you know...
Re: Jailed.
The keyboard was in my lap while I was watching movie on other screen. Couldn't be more "at the keyboard".lestatzero wrote:and you are not At the Keyboard
Re: Jailed.
I did not at any point say that it was your shield that was responsible. You were, at the time, wearing 4-5 pieces of gear with reflect physical on them. I know for a fact, from extensive testing and play on Excelsior, that mobs will die from reflect physical. Further, I already explained to you that the staff can view the mob's killer in the props menu. It was not just some 'random' corpse left by a passing player. Lastly, it does not matter if the keyboard is taped to your forehead. If you do not reply to the AFK check, you are considered AFK in terms of our shard rules.
Re: Jailed.
After coming out of jail I stood there for 45 minutes and not a single mob died. I repeat, with my current gear it is impossible to kill a mob without hitting it. The only corpse that could be here left by me is the one that attacked me the first after I arrived because client attacks whoever attacks me. After first one is dead, no other mob is attacked by me. And I would like to know what actions cause AFK check since from what I was doing there, it shouldn't pop up. That's why I wasn't paying attention to it.

Re: Jailed.
There are terribly easy ways to GM peacemaking, healing, and others that you can do in town and avoid the situation altogether. No danger of skirting/breaking rules and no aggravation for anyone.
PM me Xorn, and I'll be happy to explain in detail how you can macro them safely.

Re: Jailed.
not to mention ALL of this is a moot point since if you wanted to train peacemaking you can train it from 0-120 you can train it afk completely legally in your house targetting yourself with the peacemake, thus rendering the need for doing it a dungeon and causing a commotion, completely and utterly unneccesary

Re: Jailed.
I was under impression that peacemaking works only on mobs that should be "peaced". Cows seemed to be peaceful enough already, so I went to calm down skeletons. They still wanted to kill me, but since I wasn't killing anyone and skill was growing, I camped that spot.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. In all seriousness, though, the fact of the matter is that you received a soft warning. Don't do it again, and you won't have to deal with it again. I suggested training it at Moonglow zoo, and your fellow players have given you numerous other suggestions as well.Xorn wrote:it is impossible

Re: Jailed.
Now I'm not sure what it means anymore but what I thought what it means when I said it, was that if I will stand in my current gear motionless and a skeleton will hit me, sooner my armor will break down to 0 than the skeleton will die because of damage reflection.
PS. It almost looks like you have mustache in that picture
