Tresure Hunting Not Good Enough

Hi guys.. well just like the title says i find tresure hunting on this shard not good enough, As for T Maps the only ones that r worth going for them r lvl 6 ones, and even those side from the minor Arty, they dont have any real value.
The way i see it, this shard has a los of custom things and the market rates makes only a few items worth having so variaty depends only on the goods u get on looted stuff and some quest items which most of the poeple here now where to get them.
But lvl 6 Tmaps, are loaded with bad items which r not suited for anyone and they r not that easy to get to make it a normal.
So i was thinking side form the minor u find u could get less weapons and armors and just a few better ones and maybe a bigger reward on gold would make tresure hunting not just fun but awesome.
but u get like 100 items on a chest which if u sell everything with real value uill get 10k the most.
i would love to see waht other players think about this
cheers

I was pondering myself whether to raise cartography or not, I was fearing what you are telling us. I imagine that treasure hunting can be fun, but should be also rewarding. I would prefer not seeing here again the battered argument "nobody forces you to...", is not constructive.
Maybe increasing the chance of good items or including rare crafting materials, elixirs, rare gems, even exotic furniture, could make it worth. I am thinking even in quest items for GoC. I have never hunted treasures myself, no idea about the rewards, but you are saying 10k at most in the best chests...
Lets see if other more seasoned pirates contribute to the thread

I believe requiem is working on something to expand upon treasure hunting But I will let him expand upon that
I myself am an avid treasure hunter and would like to point out 2 things from the tmaps
lvl5 tmaps yield around 10-11k per map
lvl6 tmaps can yield as high as 25k or so per map (not to mention if the paragon arti is a blaze of death or gloves of the pugilist. jackpot)
your figures were a little low, if you don't get that much its because you aren't fully looting the items from the chest, worth doing as each item can spawn a guardian monster, so regardless of whether you keep or trash the item in ur token bag loot all of it till its empty for max gold, I have a script that I used to use to do it for me, but I have found lately I am actually much faster than the script with my mouse..
but yes totally worth raising and doing, I look at treasure maps as a self spawnable dungeon for when there is no champs up or peak hours where your favorite spots are full of people.
I tend to only do trammel lvl5 and both trammel and felucca lvl6 maps myself
happy hunting

That is encouraging Yoda, thanks for the input. Is lockpicking needed to open chests?

yup once you hit 100 you should be good to go although the lvl6's will fail alot on the plus side you will also gain lockpicking off either

Yoda is correct. There is a reason people charge an arm and a leg for level 6 t-maps. I always bring in somewhere north of 25k, shot at an arti (Blaze 600-700k, gloves of pug 1-2 mil). I do agree the lower levels could use an overhaul. I also think even the level 6s will be served by +Nyx's experiment with using artis for an auction item.

The guardian mobs can drop ointments with Felucca t-maps, so that can add to the gold haul for those.
