lag issues

I have been lagging for the last week or so, to the point of not really being able to play.

I seen this posted this morning, I could not post in that thread as it is locked. Is anyone else still lagging? I take 2 steps and wait 10-15 sec, few more steps, etc. Getting frustrating, and not sure what to do. According to the post below it is fixed, not sure if it is something on my end...any suggestions?

thanks

We are happy to announce that the annoying lag is now cleared up! The lag started sometime in august, and got increasingly worse, and really shown it's full capacity in the last few days (4-second spikes almost every minute, i've even seen some 30 second or up to 120 second freezes).

The shard will remain at a 15 minute save interval, just in case, but it seems we're definitely out of the woods now.

Have fun!"

Try rebooting your Cable/DSL modem. Some times that is where the bottle neck is. Also try going to www.speedtest.net and test your connection speed it could be your ISP.

thanks for your reply, I did the speed test thing and it is 12ping 26.73 mbps download and upload is 2.76 mbps...have no idea if that is good or bad.

I don't have any problems on other games or sites at all...someone said to change a few settings in game and that helped a tiny bit, but still lag so much...never used to, not sure what has changed :-(

I am scared to go out and do much in game cause it just freezes up for who knows how long, getting frustrating and makes playing no fun at all :-(

Hiya, are you using Razor or some other third party software? Razor and UOAssist with not enough virtual memory are known to cause latency which has nothing to do with your connection or ping, but your computer itself. Also, (Open)EasyUO scripts can cause lag if you do not pay attention to waits and actions in your scripts.

I'm not sure it will help but try running through this post that I made on the forums and see if there is any affect. Its step by step so its easy to use. I am assuming your using DSL based on the 2mb upload speed. Here is the link to the forum post:

You may also want to try running a program called HitManPro on your machine to see if you have any rouge programs that could be slowing you down. Its free on the net, just Google it.

Hope it helps

THANK YOU JIM!

I looked over your post, and played around a bit, and so far it seems good, we will keep our fingers crossed. I very much appreciate the help.
