I am writing to complain about how silly this thread is.

Re: I Wish to Complain
This thread makes me giggle.
While we're throwing out disapproval-face photos, I make this face at the screen a LOT when staffing:

Re: I Wish to Complain
I wish to mock the complainers, because surely it's of no value to tell the admins about the occasional thing they fail to do well. As we all know, their infinite wisdom permits the admins to determine what the players do and do not enjoy solely from the compliments they receive. Verily I tell thee: complaints deserve only mockery.

Re: I Wish to Complain
This thread is not funny, people have legitimate complaints and the admins have a responsibility to address them. I'll be the first to list some of mine here so you can see just how serious this is.
1. Lord Oaks spawned while I had UO minimized and was trying to buy some more time machines for cookie clicker. Now I have to wait for the next time he appears. Not fair.
2. My UO Client crashes every time I have 6 or more EasyUO scripts running and 13 instances of chrome.exe. Unacceptable.
3. I didn't win the Relayer raffle and I really really wanted to.
4. Java keeps popping up saying it has new updates and it ALREADY updated a few days ago.
5. The Nigerian prince whom I sent money to is not calling me back and I'm worried he may never get his money out of the country now.
6. And last but not least, its 36 degrees F here this morning, THANK YOU for that +Admins! #inconsiderate.

Nobody was making sweeping generalizations but you. In fact, nobody was taking this thread seriously but you. It seems like you're after a reason to be upset, which is unfortunate, but resolving that is not the responsibility of anyone but yourself.Wil wrote:I wish to mock the complainers, because surely it's of no value to tell the admins about the occasional thing they fail to do well. None of us have ever said that constructive input is unwelcome or automatically invalid. We frequently listen to such input, but Pariah hit the nail on the head with this:
When input is presented in a whiny, snotty, pouty, entitled, rude, or pretentious way - it automatically turns the reader/listener off and negates any value in the points made. It's not difficult to present one's input in a polite, well-thought-out and cohesive way. Anyone who doesn't bother to do so is just displaying a general lack of respect for the listener(s) and the shard itself.Pariah wrote:Equally important though is how you present your thoughts. Be diplomatic and respectful. Try and think through the repercussions of what you're proposing instead of a knee jerk response. It's those who act entitled or pretentious that draw the ire of staff.
Anyway, back on the (entirely silly) topic:
Every time someone tells me "I'm gonna email Colibri", "I'm friends with Colibri", "Colibri is going to fire you because you disciplined me!" or anything along those veins:
