This thread makes me giggle.

While we're throwing out disapproval-face photos, I make this face at the screen a LOT when staffing:

and this one.

I wish to mock the complainers, because surely it's of no value to tell the admins about the occasional thing they fail to do well. As we all know, their infinite wisdom permits the admins to determine what the players do and do not enjoy solely from the compliments they receive. Verily I tell thee: complaints deserve only mockery.

This thread is not funny, people have legitimate complaints and the admins have a responsibility to address them. I'll be the first to list some of mine here so you can see just how serious this is.

1. Lord Oaks spawned while I had UO minimized and was trying to buy some more time machines for cookie clicker. Now I have to wait for the next time he appears. Not fair.

2. My UO Client crashes every time I have 6 or more EasyUO scripts running and 13 instances of chrome.exe. Unacceptable.

3. I didn't win the Relayer raffle and I really really wanted to.

4. Java keeps popping up saying it has new updates and it ALREADY updated a few days ago.

5. The Nigerian prince whom I sent money to is not calling me back and I'm worried he may never get his money out of the country now.

6. And last but not least, its 36 degrees F here this morning, THANK YOU for that +Admins! #inconsiderate.

I wish to mock those who are mocking those who are mocking the complainers. Seriously though, I've raised many an issue in the past. Staff has nearly always responded. Sometimes it's a yes (disable hiding at Peerless spawns, the economic downturn thread that resulted in many improvements), sometimes it's a no (Mistvale items, lockpicking difficulty) and sometimes it's a maybe later. How staff responds to you results from two things. First, the validity of your idea and its impact on the shard as a whole. Equally important though is how you present your thoughts. Be diplomatic and respectful. Try and think through the repercussions of what you're proposing instead of a knee jerk response. It's those who act entitled or pretentious that draw the ire of staff. Lastly, say your thoughts and move on. Understand that not everything you propose will be seen as feasible or right for the shard. Sometimes you are going to get a "Thanks for your feedback, but no." As one of my favorite quotes from Admiral Hyman Rickover on management (keep in mind this guy led the team that built the first nuclear sub), "He must be able, in effect, to “kill his own child” if necessary..." Sometimes being heard and responded to is the best you're going to get. Most shards won't even give you that, let alone all of the custom content we get here.

Nobody was making sweeping generalizations but you. In fact, nobody was taking this thread seriously but you. It seems like you're after a reason to be upset, which is unfortunate, but resolving that is not the responsibility of anyone but yourself.

None of us have ever said that constructive input is unwelcome or automatically invalid. We frequently listen to such input, but Pariah hit the nail on the head with this:
Pariah wrote:Equally important though is how you present your thoughts. Be diplomatic and respectful. Try and think through the repercussions of what you're proposing instead of a knee jerk response. It's those who act entitled or pretentious that draw the ire of staff.
When input is presented in a whiny, snotty, pouty, entitled, rude, or pretentious way - it automatically turns the reader/listener off and negates any value in the points made. It's not difficult to present one's input in a polite, well-thought-out and cohesive way. Anyone who doesn't bother to do so is just displaying a general lack of respect for the listener(s) and the shard itself.

Anyway, back on the (entirely silly) topic:

Every time someone tells me "I'm gonna email Colibri", "I'm friends with Colibri", "Colibri is going to fire you because you disciplined me!" or anything along those veins:
