Do the vote thing off of the main page. The 1 ED you get for it sells for around 50k

Do champ spawns. The newbie champ spawn runs every few hours and provides a ton of gold.

I found that to be much more lucrative than doing the newbie quests.

rat quest like Annachie said, is good if you keep up at it. You can run it every 30 minutes, on every character on your account if you wish. Plus, you shouldn't die much if at all. Then sell the organics.

also, do the escort missions. Easy gold with no chance of death.
