Is this shard for me?

I have been playing uo for a long time, Just started doing free shards a few years back. Everyone I have played has had a very bad problems with pks. The server I'm on now is very bad with pks, And when I'm out hunting I normally get pked 3 to 4 times a night.


I see this server has no pking, I just want a friendly shard is this it?

Also I will most likely make a tamer is the gains the same as all the other servers that give no handouts on skills? Also when starting is there a newbie dungeon to start making gold as I will need a spell book and taming spots to start taming

Hi there Illusive, Yes this shard is typically very friendly and helpful. there are lots of guilds out there on the shard that would be willing to show you the ropes, one of them is ETA aka Excelsior Training Academy. It is true there is no PKing here, but you can have consensual PvP in the PvP dungeon. Skill gains on here are faster than they are on OSI/EA. Stat gains on here are a chance for 1 point every 15 minutes. as far as making money when you just start, there is a newbie quest called the rat quest that you can do every 30 minutes. the reward is a few items called Organic material. You can take that and sell it on the [exex for gold. also I suggest doing escort quests when you can. one more piece of information is that you can get a taming brush from an animal breeder (i think) and craft pet dyes, and other items to raise your taming skill.

this is my 4th free shard and I had the same issues as you with the pk's, reds and thieves. once I landed here I found and im sure you will too that the ppl here on excelsior and the friendliest, helpful and most generous I have ever met and I started UO OSI napa shard 6 mos after beta. 1998 I think and UO has never been a very friendly place but here I believe you will thrive at any lvl of play with help coming if you just ask.

Well I did some free shards 10+ years ago....now I am back to UO...first shard and....this is it! Very kind people [didin't meet most yet but i don't think I will change my mind].

Hello there Illusive...ive played UO for many years and found this shard alittle over 4 years ago....Been here ever since and never looked back, ive meet and became friends with more people in my 4 years here than i ever did with the 1000's of players on OSI when i was there for 9 years...I for 1 would of been on this shard sooner if i would of found it alot faster than i did.
