Can I just delete the character?

Also... how would someone go about appealing to remove a chat ban? Suggestions?

Why do you want to delete you're character?

You could send a page about the chat ban, but i don't know if the staff remove bans beforehand.

I'd rather delete the character then go through the arduous process of being released from jail. I was actually jailed for trying to get into contact with a GM/admin. That is my point of view anyway.

Whatever else anyone can say I think everyone can agree that there needs to be some consistency in the way rules are enforced to players and by admins/GMs.

Good sirs and madams,

I was told by a GM to report any slight infraction in the rules. When I did this I was jailed by +N. The chat format doesn't allow for people to take turns speaking so there's a lot of information all at once. That doesn't make communication any easier in some cases. I believe I have been respectful and have followed all of the directives in good faith.

I could have said nothing and deleted the character. Instead I have asked if deletion is a suitable alternative? Hopefully you can see that I am seeking a resolution.

This is a wonderful shard with a superior player base. I have met a few of you in Britannia and I have only positive things to say. I apologize if I am appearing to "whine" or cause problems. I feel that I must walk on eggshells in order to not offend when I am only asking for clarification.

But this is out of our hands, you'll have to contact the staff via paging or email if you wish to discuss your chat ban or jailing.

You were not jailed for paging. You were jailed because you circumvented a chat ban by utilizing another character created after the chat ban was enacted. A chat ban you earned because 2 minutes after you paged on someone for a slight infraction, you then called them out in world chat as if it was your place to publicly cite them for it. This is something you'd already been told repeatedly and in great detail was not appropriate and not to do. Since you'd been such a problem the entire night and completely ignored both mine and +R's lengthy explanations of the rules and how to improve your behavior, you were chat banned. Then you created a new character and proceeded to continue trolling world chat. When we noticed, you were jailed.

We went out of our way for -hours- to explain to you (repeatedly) how this shard works and what our rules are, how to avoid being a nuisance in world chat. You completely ignored it all and continued to show you were just here to troll.

Your tasks will not be lifted, and if you do anything to attempt to circumvent them, you'll receive 500+ more. You cannot delete a character while it is jailed. If you create new accounts, they will be banned. You can do your 25 tasks or not, but they do not decay. You earned them and need to do them if you wish to play here further. You are also not supposed to be using the forums while you are jailed.

I told you that if you felt someone was in violation of the rules, you could send a page.

That does not include talking about it in world chat. That does not include *your* interpretation of the rules, or your attempts to enforce *your* interpretation on others.

You were also warned, multiple times, to just stop talking and let it go. Yet you chose to keep pushing the envelope, which i told you not to do in our hours long conversation. You were being obnoxious on purpose, which never goes over well with anyone.

Also, I'd like to point out, that world chat is *not* your personal blog.

Wow dude, the staff was way more patient with you than I woulda been. Do your tasks to get out of jail or find yourself a different shard. Kudos to +N and +R for the patience and tact in dealing with this.

This guy was at it for a long time in world chat. There was not only admins talking to him, but about five of us were trying to explain to him what he was doing wrong and to just drop it.
