Greetings, i'm new here and would like to grett everyone from a 6 year break from UO.
However, since the shard i've been usually been at, has slowly died. Perhaps, some of you, are already here.
Question #1 - Is the shard international? It missed the line in the description.
Question #2 - Is the shard RP/PvM/PvP oriented or there's one of them missing?
Hey people and waiting for your replies.
Sincerely,
Mazaren
New here.
Re: New here.
hi there, yes this shard is international, with players from all over the globe.
we are a PvM oriented shard with limited pvp, some events have pvp and there is a pvp dungeon. but we are mostly pvm.

Re: New here.
Welcome! Like Fiernocht said, we are international, and have players everywhere. This is a long standing shard with a dedicated core of players and staff. Lots of custom content, with more in development. We have been getting a lot of new players from fading shards, and we welcome you all. This is a very supportive shard, and if you need assistance or help, there is most always someone willing to lend a hand. Enjoy your Excelsior experience!

Re: New here.
Welcome.
As stated, this is a very international shard, with a large US and Canadian player base.
Many players have been on this shard 3+ years (myself included) and you will always find a helpful player when in need.
I suggest to read the wiki (it may overwhelming but try powering through for relevant early stage chapters) and make sure to ask questions to friends and/or guildies. There are a few helpful "young(er) player" guilds like ETA ([pm Ernie for details). Work up your skills in the early stages (no skill cap) and after 21 days have a crack at Mistvale and start collecting the individual pieces. You will also want to complement those pieces with the "220 Dex suit" (more can be found on the wiki on that). Joining "teamspeak" to ask questions is also very helpful.
[pm Alejandro if you have any questions. Enjoy and welcome.

Re: New here.
Hello and welcome!
I am new here as well and really enjoying it all. Jump in, lots of helpful people and tons of novel stuff to do in addition to the typical UO awesomeness.

Re: New here.
I haven't seen much roleplay on this shard. But once you get established as a character, I can honestly say it's not something lacking really (and I come from a roleplay background). There is so much to see and do on the shard that you may not even have time to miss roleplay. When you start out, it may seem a bit boring and blah. But don't just sit and train your character at the trainer! Make sure to enjoy general chat (you can type [c to speak in it) and get to know people.
To make some easy starting money, do escort quests (no escort quests on Excelsior request you take them to dungeons... only towns so VERY easy money!!!) and also do the newbie quest (Rat Quest) as often as you can. Also make sure to check out the newbie donation room to pick up some gear and such.
If you are lost and need help, general chat is a great place to go! I will warn you, often times the answer will be "Have you checked the wiki page?". That is full of great information but sometimes it will lead to more questions.
Once you have gotten your player some decent skills (way easy to do on Excelsior!), there are some fun places as a young person to check out depending on your skills. Not only that but periodically there are staff run events that even new players can participate in! Many of our staff run events are set up where players are given armor and weapons to use that puts us all on a level playing field... meaning that you will have the same skills as someone who has been on shard for years, for that event.
So any time you see an event announced and can make it, DO SO! They are great fun!
Another event you'll want to try to participate in is champ spawns. It's an easy way to make decent gold as well as acquiring power scrolls to use or to sell. Info on champ spawns can be found on the WIKI page as well. You may also want to look around at various guilds that run champ spawns. Some use bracelets of binding within the guild to get guild members to champ spawns easily.
We're also planning a PLAYER run event coming up in October. It's a day of fun and games with prizes given out. It should be a lot of fun and a great place to meet people.
Some of the games will be tough as it will take you into dungeons. But others will be safely at the festival grounds and can be enjoyed by players of almost all levels. (a few will be dependent on skill set but most can be enjoyed by all).
If you have any questions once you get into the game, you can PM me ( To do so, type [pm Neve you'll have to then select "Neve DeLeon" from the list). If I don't answer right away it means I'm not around at the moment but I'll answer as soon as I look at the game window.
You'll find many players on this shard to be nice and helpful. We're a great community of players all over the world and many of us love to see new players start on the shard.
