possible new shop

i am thinking about opening a new shop and putting it on the world teleporter. i am thinking of doing a pawn shop. anyone can bring me items they want to sell, we will figure out a bottom dollar price, and an asking price. i will log them in a book only i can read, and negotiate prices for people. i dont know how well it will work so i was looking for some feedback. i know people are always announcing things in world chat and im sure some people would love to put things where others can come and see them. i would advertise the shop and be available most of the time to sell the items. i would take a small percentage for my services which would be a flat rate. i would like some feedback. if i get enough positive response i will open up for business. thanks guys and gals! love this shard!

i think what Alex tried to do was way too smart for me. i can beat him in fantasy football, but he is obviously way smarter than me in business sense. i do not plan on charging a weekly rate. i feel that if you and I agree that an item is worth selling outside of a vendor, you wont want it to sit there very long. i don't plan on setting a price limit because i feel the need for certain items is very fluid. if you are trying to sell items cheaper than 250k you would most likely have a vendor. if not, based on the item, i might not accept it. i dont want to scare off business. i believe that if someone is looking for a 115 taming right now, they might be looking for a GoC item in a month. acceptance of items would be based on an item by item basis. im not going to sell your 110 musicianship scroll. but i might be willing to sell your 115 mining depending on if i have another in the shop. i might take duplicate GoC bracelets since they are coveted but i might not accept other doubles. then again, i might, depending on the market. im not scared to be flexible because markets and funds available are flexible. but i would never sell an item cheaper than the owner is willing to sell it. that being said, i wouldnt accept an item i felt was over priced. i would want my shop to be one people felt was a place to find items at a fair price, much like Alex has at the Lava Shop. ive bought my items there since the first day i joined the shard.

oh, and i forgot to mention, this isnt as much of a pawn shop in the sense that i wont give you any gold for your item. it will be sitting on a table in my shop. if you feel like its not selling fast enough, you tell me you want it back and theres no risk, no fee. i will not give you money for your item. im as broke as the next guy, i just see a chance to help people who dont have the opportunity too hunt as often as i do sell items that they wouldnt want to spent the money on a vendor for. i would only accept items when i had a space on a table open. that way everyones item is visible and nothing is tucked away. complete transparency, to the point that you could come to my shop at any time and see if your item has sold or not. i would send out a pm about sold items within seconds of the sale and i think that after dealing with me at this point, most people know im honest. i donate to this shard just to give things to players who need it. i have no need to steal gold from my customers.

i have several items i will put on tables. i hope that i can get good enough items that if/when i open the shop, my comission will pay for the teleporter spot. as long as i can maintain that on a fairly consistent basis i will keep it going. i plan on working similar to a defense attorney so i wont get paid till you do and i wont pay you till we get paid.
