not sure where you got that i want the prices to jump from 10-20 and making iron unavailable but if you say so.
I was stating that i bought and would buy more often than not at 10-12 and that 20 was far too high.
Like someone said earlier the npc vendor sells for 18 so why would you charge 20 for it? just because of large quantity? novel idea but if people want to pay 20 per ingot then let me know I will gladly go back to mining it all up as iron is far too common to mine. The only ore where you don't have to look for. Its everywhere. and fel with double ore intake get k's of iron in no time.
I am just simply stating that iron should remain fairly low and that say 15 be its high cap as earlier stated npc vendor sells for 18 and one would like to keep below npc prices. Colour is where you can make your money as the better the colour the harder it is to find and the more cost per ingot. For example one platinum ingot I would be comfortable buying at around 95-100 so if you know your spots of colour which there is actually libraries of information and runes to colour spots it makes it easier to accumulate large quantities.

Here's what I meant. 10ea is a lowball price: this is what people wanting a quick and easy sale will sell for, usually when they have a particular goal, like a newbie who wants to afford a house plot. 20ea is what people who want ingots and can't find them offer to pay; the reason they can't find the ingots is usually because the lowball sellers have achieved their goals and are playing a more interesting game than mining. I was predicting that if you demand 10ea as a set price, you'll likely end up with 20ea and no ingots available at certain times. I don't think it's sustainable.

I thought you were saying that anything over 10-12ea for iron was too high. I think that 10 is fine for a lowball price (you do have to have a lowball price, I think), but I wouldn't want to have to keep my vendor stocked at that price. Even at 15ea I felt a lot of pressure to keep up with high demand at times. I was stocking sometimes six times a day. (That's an important consideration when setting a price: it's not all about profit.) But now demand seems to have levelled off, and I'll consider lowering my price if this proves to be the new situation, though it's possible sales are down temporarily because everyone blew their cash on the auction

This is the point I'm trying to make: prices for things like ingots are dynamic.

I appreciate your clarification and yes 10 was a lowball price and 15 was the high end i like i am sure you understand now that what i meant was that 20 was too high as vendors sold at 18 therefore being more expensive. I am not saying that I wouldnt pay 15 each for an ingot as i think that is fair if on vendor as a vendor tends to have a little markup due to the cost of running one therefore selling them at 15 so you actually are making say 13 per so to speak(havent done the math) which is still a fair price for them. Also i was also stating that iron should be the lowest then gradually increasing in price as the colour gets better. I am legendary miner and usually the first skill i start with but like you said i have now moved on to a much more exciting gameplay experience and would rather not mine there fore needing to buy from the miner i once was. At that time it was actually cheaper to sell yet I am more than happy to pay up to 15 as I understand the work involved macro or no macro. Iron is abundant and I wish the best to those who mine as it is very respectable skill to have.

i disagree and would bring your attention to the price of leather and lumber on player vendors compared to the NPC vendors.
