Re: Buying an Armor Set here (Really specific lolz)
May I make some suggestions?
Magic benefits everyone, even the up-close and personal hack-n-slash players. So, for armor, I would suggest focusing on the high resists, mage armor (for your meditation), stat bonuses, regens, and defense chance increase.
I haven't seen any armor crafted that has damage bonuses and increases, so I would rely on your helm, jewelry, gloves, and weapon for that. For example, lets say you find a pair of Stormgrip gloves, a Headband of Power, and you get your hands on a 35% damage increase sword for starters. The gloves have 25% damage increase, 8 intelligence increase, 125 luck, and 53% total resists. Then you have the headband with 15% damage increase, hit chance increase 12%, reflect physical damage 10%, strength bonus 10, and swing speed increase 30%. With those 2 things, you have 40% damage increase, 30% swing speed increase, and 12% chance to hit increase for combat. Assuming you can find a sword with at least 35% DI, you're at 75% increase. You can level it to 50% and have a total of 90% from just 3 items. You can pick up the rest on your way to 100% with jewelry.
As for your weapon, is there a specific reason that you're asking for a viking sword? If so, cool! But, just so you know, if you went with a katana you would be doing more damage over time and you would be trading the special moves Concussion Blow and Paralyzing Blow, for Double Strike and Penetrate Armor. Concussion Blow is good, but I noticed from testing that Armor Ignore and Penetrate Armor deal more damage. Also, Double-Strike may be beneficial with a weapon that has high leeches. I believe that if you have 60% life leech on a weapon and you use double-strike, it has two 60% chances of leeching health from an enemy. Also, paralyzing blow is really only a good move for pvp, which isn't really present here. I would also (ideally) try to find a weapon that has high hit life leech and hit mana leech. The stamina leech isn't a major issue with Divine Fury (Chivalry Spell). Also, would be nice to find one with hit lightning, swing speed increase, or hit lower defense.
I'm not trying to change your mind for you, but more give you information that may help you in your decision making process.
If you have any questions, you can PM me in game if you like. I bet I can find you a sword and shield at the very least that may help you out.
