Looking for advice on a weapon

Hey guys and gals,

I recently looted a weapon. It's a demon slayer (without that I'm sure it would be worthless).

Spear
Demon Slayer
Damage Increase 24
Hit Life Leech 16
Hit Lightning 34
Hit Lower Attack 36
Hit Stamina Leech 40

Is it worth spending the 200ED to change it to a double axe and the time to level it? I was planning to level it as a single target weapon something like:

Damage Increase 25
Hit Life Leech 20
Hit Stamina Leech 40
Hit Mana Leech 40
Hit Lower Attack 40
Hit Fireball 50
Hit Lightning 60
Hit Point Increase 8

That would leave me 19 points to spend on something else by my calculations.

I'm thinking this would be a decent weapon for killing Balrons.

Thoughts?

I wouldn’t bother with spending 200ed for that.

You’d be better off spending those ED/gold on either a 4x46, or gear so you can hunt in the twisted Weald and get your self a boat load of x/46 weps.

Also, as a recommendation - never spend any points adding to Damg inc. I know it looks symmetrical, but it’s useless as you will get that DI elsewhere.

In case you’re unsure-
I’d avoid area hits on a wep meant for single targets (when you’re buying later) avoid HLA and avoid/don’t count hit dispel. Personally, my first leveled wep was a 3 leech wep that I added two spells to.

Edit:
Use those extra points (if you do decide to use this wep) for +str.

Edit 2:
I am not saying this wep won’t work for killing Bally’s- however, there are better weps you can buy, and using enemy of one will take a bally down sufficiently quick.

I agree with Versales, 200ED is a heavy amount of investment for a weapon that is nice but not game changing. I'm not sure what kind of level you're at in game, but 200EDs (10 mil gold) would buy you 3 Gem of completion pieces, with some change, if you don't have any of these already they are a sound investment as they have great stats, the chest piece being the most desirable to obtain first. Of course you can do the quest yourself, but there are a few parts that will require imprisoned pets, or you need to be willing to accept the potential for heavy stat loss on other pets.

Twisted weald is a nice place, but I wouldn't say I've got a boat load of nice weapons from there, I've had a few 3x46 and I've been hunting there for a while, it is fun though :)

I would also say no don't waste 200EDs on it.

The reason is that while it has 5 attributes, 3 of them are useless and don't add any damage.

Also, Stamina leech at 40% is the highest attribute which again...doesn't do much for damage.

If you found a Demon slayer that has 40%+ in Mana Leech, Lightning/Fireball/Harm, and HLD or Life Leech...then i'd say go for it but the number have to be on the higher end of the spectrum.

Thanks guys seems pretty unanimous - I won't spend the 200EDs on it.

In response to Opopanax I'm new, my account is only 2 months old. I have the GoC chest and that's probably the best thing I have. I bought it with gold from a donation - I highly doubt I could manage the quest.

Also I looked up Twisted Weald - sounds like fun - going to see if I can survive there soon :D

The sleeves are great as well, and the boots, but unless you can afford to lose the 10 dex of bat wings in the feet slot I'd go with the sleeves next. One of the best things about GoC stuff is the spell damage increase you get with it too, some slots you can't get spell damage increase on without relayers or other difficult to obtain quest items. I really recommend reading Allan's gear guide here

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1b1R ... WX9Atw_Uw/

it helped me no end in planning my kit out (the spreadsheet he also made here is amazing and what I use now https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1744413775 ).

I would recommend trying to take down Gnaw first in the twisted weald (in the cave at the top), he is one of the easier ones to take down as his location is isolated and you can keep him in the cave and 1v1 him, with the rest if you run around you can end up with 2-3 on you, which is not good. Watch out for Malefic(sp?) the scorpion thing, as it mortal strikes you.

Discord is also your friend, it was thanks to that area that I trained mine all the way to 120.

Good luck and have fun :)
