Greater potion kegs leaking
Greater potion kegs leaking
I have a small three story stone house east of Britian in Trammel. Eight days ago I started 21 beehives and placed them on the top floor in a "U" formation with bee friendly plants in the middle and water pitchers on every other hive. The hives are thriving at 60k bee population. I had purchased 5 greater potion kegs and store them on the second floor. After I tend the hives I refill the kegs to completely full. I noticed the following day the greater potion kegs would be partially empty. And nothing else in the house would be touched including the spare bottled greater potions I have stored in a locked and secured bag upstairs with the bees. All the kegs were locked and secured. Today I had made another 5 new greater potion kegs, completely filled them up and stored them in a chest on the second floor. I had arrived to tend the bees before it was time for them to do their Hive Growth Check and checked the locked down greater potion kegs on the second floor and they were completely full. I then put the new greater potion kegs, from the locked down chest, in my backpack and tended the hives after they did their Hive Growth Check. After I had finished I placed the new potion kegs in the chest. I then clicked on the locked down kegs that I had'nt used and they were all partially full or half full. The house is private with only the owner having access. As a precaution today, I moved all the kegs over to another private house I own outside Trinsic where I have no hives. I read that the bees will go all thru the house looking for water and plants so I took the precaution of having no other water or plant source in the house. Do kegs really leak? Do the bees self medicate? Is this a bug?

Re: Greater potion kegs leaking
ive never heard of kegs leaking nor have i experienced anything like such and ive been doing hives for think there age is over 400 days old and i keep my potion kegs in a secured boine container and dont realize losing any amount of potions from it
Re: Greater potion kegs leaking
Did you check to see that the kegs you stored away in the chest were in fact used for the entire bee tending session? (meaning that the game didn't just pull out 'some' of the potions from them and the rest from the above kegs?)
It has been my experience that the game isn't completely consistent with which kegs it uses from... just because they are a floor above... you might still access them from below. For instance if you log in on a different floor above or below your bees you can still access them when you first log in (until you move)...

Re: Greater potion kegs leaking
The potion kegs that were mysteriously missing potion were the ones I had stacked on the floor against the wall locked down on the second floor. I would usually fill potion bottles from all the kegs til my backpack was full then tend the beehives till I was empty then refill bottles with more potions. When I was done tending the bees I would refill the kegs so they would be ready for the next day. When I returned the next day I found that the potion kegs were anywhere from half full to three quarter full even though I had topped off the kegs the previous day after I tended the bees, but I had arrived after the the beehives did their Hive Growth check for the day.
Due to the amount of potions I was using I had made a new set of potion kegs but I had stored them in a locked chest on the second floor. When it came time to tend the bees I just used the kegs stored in the chest by putting them in my backpack to save time instead of using bottles. It seems that the amount of potions used from the kegs in my backpack was the same amount removed from the corresponding potion keg locked down against the wall on the second floor.
Sir Blood, I think you hit the nail on the head. When the Hive Growth Check was conducted the computer would take the same amount of potions out of the potion kegs, stacked against the second floor wall, as I had placed on the hive before the Hive Growth Check.
Thanks for the replies.
