Patience young padawan... I think they are doing their best.. Turning 90 days tomorrow and this is sincerly just the second time I saw it down longer then 10 mins (even then, maybe just the 3rd or 4th I see it down, period)

Well since last my name change, It origonally was GOD then Apox and now it's DEMI. My name in the Portol I just noticed now is still Apox even tho the rest of my information got changed. I can not type, never was able to chat in the portol and the only way for me to chat in game is in the game it'self. I am not sure if this could be causing a problem or not altho you did ask if anyone couldent type in the portol +Rayne. I hope this helps any and GL

Yesterday, I couldn't connecton the website while others could. Today, I can visit the website yet can't connect (and i can see the shard is acessible for other players as there are 47 players online atm). Is it a router problem? Isit on myside or the server side?

This is just a page back in this thread, but for those who haven't looked at it:

Update: I have initiated a restart, however it does not seem to be coming back online. Unfortunately, my direct access to the Server computer is not working either. I have placed a call to Colibri and we will need to wait until he can load the server. Apologies for the inconvenience and I hope the server to be back up in 2-4 hours. Colibri is very good about checking his messages, and he is equipped with tools needed to bring the shard back online.

Also, if we are slightly reverted to before the GrabAll event, we will have it again, so do not worry. I do believe that there was a save that occurred just after the event, so there is a chance the revert would be 15 minutes. We will have to wait and see.

In the meantime, I see we have some fun games on the forums, and the Ventrilo server should still be online. I will keep you posted with any updates I receive.

*Edit: Also, there was nothing new that broke the shard. It was a command that somehow caused the renaming of a large amount of items. We will be reverting whether slightly or before the event to fix this. It is very much fixable, it is just a matter obtaining access to fix it.

Though I really want to play right now - Excelsior has been awesome to me in my first 1.5 months - Excelsior deserves our patience.

I wanted to be usefull and tell people that a the free shard I play could be used while this one is down, but yet I don't know how to read this codex rule:

d. No advertisements or soliciting of real world entities allowed. Mentioning of a website, product, other shard, etc., is permitted to some extent, but should a staffmember deem your words to be an advertisement, you may be jailed, banned from chat, or even banned from the shard.

Well anyway, I don't want to take the chance of naming the shard until I get the official ok; but it would possibly be a nice alternative because it uses the same client version as excelsior and there is no pk.

I am also on another "shard" in the meanwhile.. Just to get my UO fix, but it's kinda sad when you go back to a shard you are 265 days or so and notice that Excelsior brainwashed my mind and because of inactivity, I logged onto grass, no house, no items except what I had on 95 days ago or so....

Hi Fingers; You could tell me LOL I dont think I have the fortitude to raise another player. Besides I want to save up enough here to build my dock - My opionion for as little as it counts I think to have a freeshard like this so many friends and have so much fun is great. It probably takes more than I could ever imagine to keep it running. My cousin tells me on his pay shard it goes down lots and he's paying, so other than missing a fix with my friends I guess Ill just wait and eat the cheese with my whining

I don't know what to do now... lol im being patient and playing nintendo and checking back every now and then. These things do happen and take time to fix... but excelsior is well worth the wait! Let this be a test of a true virtue: PATIENCE! lol

There are so many other things to do.
This morning I went for my 1 1/2 mile walk which should have been a 4 mile jog. I'm working on getting that back up.
Then went to let them check my leg to see I wasn't overdoing it as I refuse to go to them for rehab. Sorry but I can handle that myself after the last screwup. They don't like it, I don't care.
Came in and found shard down so stained the new frame I made for my former water bed which I have decided not to replace the mattress with the same but a air mattress. More comfortable, no snaking a hose out to empty it and less weight. Checked again while waiting for it to dry so I could put it together. Finished that up and came back to see where things stand. It's around 19:20 here, perhaps dinner now then who knows.

Ya you know what!! Hes right!! I actually got a lot done today and am going to finish the dishes before it gets too late, Don't get me wrong I love UO and this shard very much. It made me feel good to do the things i did today and now that I think of it I woulden't have had the chance to do it if I had been too engulfed into my char hehe. Though it would have been nice to come back to my pc and see that my hideing was up more so then i could work my sneaking All in all i can't go to another server just for a few mins of starting off from scratch :S Even if I get cough up in the next few days ill still come right back here ayway as it was the first and last shard i picked out of a list of around 200 shards after being away from UO for 3 years to see the shard I played on for 7 years no more... So really all it comes down to is it worth it? HECK YEAH!! See you in game soon
