pet baby stamina regen

Howdy,
Stamina regeneration usually does not seem to start for baby cranes. After shrinking and unshrinking them, it rises to the current pet's max as expected.
Actions to repeat: get four crane babies at britain breeder. Mine have about 150 max stamina and 15 max mana. Dye and set name on all four. Heal with bandages to max health. Go to training room and have cranes attack a trainer. Use animal lore on a crane every 5 to 10 seconds. Observe that the current stamina number does not change.
Shrink crane with leash. Unshrink. Use animal lore on a crane every 5 to 10 seconds. Observe that the current stamina number increases every few seconds to the pet's current max.
Once in a while regeneration starts, but usually not for all four babies. I have not observed this problem on the other creatures I breed.
Mana regeneration for non-casting pets (including cranes) seems to have the same problem.
