If you are adding it as a "new local server" then I would assume complications can happen. In that case remove that server you'v been trying to add from uogateway then search threw the public servers and let it auto-download the patches.

Im not adding it as a local server. I have tried removing it from UO Gateway and re-adding it but when I try to get the patches again it downloads about 500k or less and then an error occurs saying the rar file is invalid or currupt. At the moment I have been able to play if I force UO gateway to load without the patches but then I cant see any of the static tiles and get stuck on things.

Ok i just tried that but no luck. I think the patch server is down or is hosting bad files. When you try and go to shard.uoexcelsior.com as a web address you get an Under Construction page.

Just noticed patch server is down.

Try this:
1. Download http://xthost.info/Morpheus/Ultima/Patch.rar
2. Create a new local server with following data:
IP: 208.109.100.155
Port: 2593
3. Manually add path u just downloaded: Edit server u just created and click the AddFiles button under Patch section. Select patch.

This should work, but the ip is temporary, because we are currently on a "vacation server" :)

ok seems like both fsphost vanished into thin air and xhost isnt accepting new users, so i put the official patch to our webserver (not good for the bandwidth, but at least it works for now).

related topic / more info:

(scroll down for the new post)

uogateway also works now, with the patch on the new location..

If you cant get it to work, do:
1. remove excelsior from your "favorities" - server list.
2. add it to your list again (by looking thru the "public servers" list)
3. wait for the patch to download completely.

i hope that works.

Any specific error messages?

Well, it appeared that my account wasn't found the first time (with the way you decribed to do it)

removing and adding the server didn't work either. When I tried to enter the server the patch started downloading. Around 6,6Mb and around 5Mb it just stopped installing the patch, without a warning.

And now it even appears that the server went offline? (it's red in UOGateway)

Thats because server was moved back to the original location now specs are:

1. Download http://patch.uoexcelsior.com/patch-a-uog.rar
2. Create a new local server with following data:
IP: shard.uoexcelsior.com
Port: 36300 or 2593 (dunno exactly)
3. Manually add path u just downloaded: Edit server u just created and click the AddFiles button under Patch section. Select patch.
