APPROVED: Mini champ for young players

1. tier: headless, mongbats, giant rats
2. tier: imps, giant spiders, orcs
3. tier: ettins, earth elementals
4. tier: liches, wraiths,
Champ: a blood elemental (more hits, maybe less str). Would drop 1 110ps per person. Would drop about 30k gold around him. There will be 2 of them in the world, spawning probably every 4 hours.
Could be called "Noob Champ"
Any ideas about what else could be in there are welcome.

I think the boss should be a killer chicken, and you can call it "Salmonella"
But if it's a blood elemental..... could name the boss, "Creos" (Latin: to create, make)
Name the champ "The Evolution"
1. b/c there is no set type of creature always spawning, but constantly evolving into seemingly unassociated creatures, and
2. new players are the target audience, and will be evolving over time while gaining skills

I think this is a fantastic idea!
By the time it is in place im afraid I will miss it.
Before i came here i read ALOT of other Shards and how they did these. (mind you i have not done one yet myself)
But I saw a couple that had Newbie champs. One had a Portal that could only be used by people that were under 2 weeks on thier account and the other had the same idea with a month on the account. Both of them had an option for the young player to party with a vet and the vet could go in and help. But IMO that could cause trouble with the vet taking loot intended for newer players.
I would also suggest that near the newbie champ placing a newbie Rez and corpse stone that doesnt cost them a fortune. If they are truly Newbies they will prolly die alot.... i know i do

seconded, awesome idea! but if you were to call it evolution, maybe have it go
Tier 1: Slimes
Tier 2: Snakes/small rats
Tier 3: Giant serpents/Giant rats
Tier 4: Lizardmen/Ratmen
Champ:Man/dragon
The man/dragon could maybe have some flavour text? ("I am the pinnacle of evolution! muwahahahahaha" etc.)
also maybe you could add a gate that only lets you in if you have under a certain number of 110 capped skills or a certain amount of skillpoints but lets people in if they are in a party with another "young" player so people could get help from kind older members ^_^
just some ideas been kicking around since the last server i played on]
edit: maybe in a swampy terrain? primordial ooze and all

possibly make it semi-easy to access seeing as they are new

Hmm might be a good thing if only the young players could actually harm the creatures (something like a 3-week account age limit)... I intend the boss to drop the scrolls to skills that are currently useless, and i suppose it wouldn't be nice if all the established players were to camp them to get the scrolls...
That way the newbies would be the only ones who can get these scrolls and the older ones would buy them for a nice price, however i hope nobody will be exploiting it and creating secondary accounts...

just thinking, maybe account age? i think alot of people would just gear out a younger player for the champ if it was character age

...yeah, and you could have a portal somewhat close to the fel entrance and place the champ in a newbie dungon or island where people are unable to land on it via boat (plank and teleport proof)...just to keep us older character's out.

would the ratmen be able to loot if the young gets killed? not sure that would be a good choice for a young to have that chance to lose items if this champ is to be teaching them how to do one.

easily turned off (four letter code change)
(this assumes a parent class with an overriden onDamage() function where damage is negated if the player.accountAge or character age, otherwise it would be making a 'new' ratman alltogether )
