Excelsior

Hello Excelsior..

I'd like to take the time to inform everyone who is an active member of the shard, that GMD has undergone immense changes, best described as a "Rebirth".

As some of you may already know, I recently had a string of absences from UO this last month, to attend to real life obligations. However, I've made my ever so subtle return, and have rebuilt GMD from the ground up. A lot of former/inactive members were removed from the guild, and new leadership positions handed out to well deserving individuals.

For those of you interested in joining GMD, or just so happen to like our guild site; you should certainly check out the new layout!

Just a few notes:

~We've implemented a brand new rank structure; switching from a casual guild to a more "raid/hunt oriented guild".
~I've completely redesigned and revamped the old guildhouse into some much more pragmatic and a tad more magestic.
~Invented and established "GMD Open House" day... get more info HERE.
~We finally obtained our guild colors, and are working on 2 more tubs!
~We are also currently working on a new program, called "GMD Beneficence", where once a week we lend our aid to new members of the shard, granting them tours, free gear, cool collectibles, etc. Check back on our site for more updates!


I felt that a revamp of the guild would do us good, and thus far it has.

Grandmasters of Destruction... Sounds like a path of destruction headed towards our peaceful home town (aka excelsior)

It's a good and epic title ^^ Something like the oldstyle Master of Disaster. Guild names should always be like that.

Lol... I've been using this guild name since the T2A era... been forever..

I just sat down one day and decided to come up with a guild name I could live with for the next few years (provided I planned on staying in UO that long!), and well.. that's what I came up with..

'Course, "GrandMaster" obviously came from UO profession titles.. but I threw the "Destruction" in there because it could suit players that were PvP or PvE oriented..

My favorite guild on OSi was KGB, Knights of Glory&Beer.

Recognize the name.. not sure if I'm familiar with them..

I played mostly Atlantic.. I was a long time member of "The Syndicate", ranks #2 on the server still (good to see!)..

In the good old times KGB was the leading guild on Pacific ... they had their own little city of castles and towers, most of them being super malls Some of them were really fun to hang around with.

I played on Pacific a few times.. maybe that's why I recognize the name.. =)

LLTS (Syndicate) had their fair share of small cities as well.. They were the first guild to over-populate the outskirts of Britain.. lol

I know when I broke off from LLTS and started GMD.. we had upwards of 30+ keeps and towers outside of vesper in and around the larger clearing north of the town. It was quite fun having large guilds like that back then.. but that long ago, people needed to rely on guilds more so than now.. Look at Excelsior for instance; it IS possible to be on your own without a guild and do just fine. But it's more plausible to reach your goals being in a tight knit guild who assists one another..
