A strange wind blows across the land... to those who are immersed in the Old Ways, it is but an eerie breeze, soon forgotten. But to those who search for a New Way, whose eyes and ears and very cells are awake and listening, this wind blows for them. To these few souls, it is felt not as a mere flux in the weather, but a wave of energy rolling through the ethers ~ it fills them, and stirs within them that which has been long slumbering, struggling to awaken...
The Gaian Order of the Divine seeks those beings who have grown beyond the simple reality that most of the world dwells in. Perhaps you are one such as this... the current frequency most people choose to reside within can be stagnating to an awakening soul, as they search for others like them. If you have interest in the metaphysical nature of reality, of which the physical is but one small expression... if you have studied religions of the world, picking up the grains of truth that lie scattered among them, yet still you search... if you are aware that you are a spiritual being having a human experience - even now, as you sit in your computer chair leveling your weapon or grinding your reagents in a loop of detached mindlessness... then perhaps this guild is for you.
'Guild' may not be the right name, for this is to be an Order that transcends what one thinks of as a typical group of people communing in a virtual game world. We will gather in mind and spirit, though our bodies may be oceans apart, and together we will explore the ideas and teachings that contain vital wisdom for all beings who wish to walk their evolutionary path. An egalitarian Order within the bounds of Britannia, connecting on a much deeper level as Seekers of Divine Truth. If you tire of the old paradigms, and seek to explore new realms of consciousness, then come share your Eternal Spark with the Gaian Order of the Divine!
In loving service and humility,
Satta Strangebow

GOD is the acronym for Gaian Order of the Divine, if you didn't catch that
Indeed I was being a bit provocative with my post title... no offense meant! But I had a feeling that your cheeky reply in world chat would cross over to this post, Death.
And actually, no membership is required... no dues to pay, ranks to attain, or tag to latch onto your name. This is more about real people getting together and talking about some real things, which to most of the present population seems quite unreal indeed. That's okay ~ there is no judgment towards people's preferences.
The only requirement to be harmonized with this 'guild' is to have a healthy sense of humor, and a strong sense of Spirit. ;D

Publicly talking about religion on this shard is a touchy thing. Not only does it make others who don't follow that religion uncomfortable, but it puts that religion in the spotlight and blood in the water for those who feel the need to take jabs at people who believe in religion. I don't want any religion poked fun at, nor do I want the player base to have to endure another missionary player...of any religion.
I don't necessarily find this post to be an issue...but I can see the "GOD is calling you" title as, well, tempting. Tempting in the sense that people will jump all over the opportunity to comment negatively on something like this...and it already started. Granted, I can see "GOD" refers to "Gaian Order of the Divine", but I can also see people reading it as the Christian/Jewish/Muslim "God".
Just be careful. I say this with the most respect. If this is a guild with a religious "flavor", that is totally fine. Being a Christian myself, I think that is cool. However, I cannot stress enough the following:
In the interest of protecting players and individual beliefs in religion from unnecessary attack, there is to be absolutely NO religious discussion in global or local chat where non-consenting players see the conversation. I have absolutely no problem with sharing religious discussion with guildmates and players in guild chat, private messages, or local chat (above head) with only consenting players within listening range or within a private house.
With that said, there is absolutely NO negative discussion of ANY religion allowed on this shard. This will be considered a language violation if i see it, and a harassment case if you attack a player for their religious beliefs. I don't care if someone is passing out a Psalms book they typed out in an in-game book, or if they are trying to convert people in global. Page about it and don't speak to them unless you are trying to explain to them the danger of their actions in a respectful manner.
This was probably longer than it had to be, but I figured I would state it anyway.
Thank you and enjoy your time here.

Re: GOD is calling you... will you answer?
strange bow loved the introduction to your guild. but like +V we had a problem about 1.5 years ago with some 'missionary' players. uo is one of the best places where people can come together, without the worry of real life stressors; like religion and politics, i'm sorry that people didn't catch the GOD acronym, which reminds me of a guild i used to belong in. Gods Of Darkness. lol this shard is a very great shard as you can see, because +V is just looking out for your best interest. he's the kind of staffer that doesn't want to see you being put down or harassed; so he's giving you a little heads up.

Re: GOD is calling you... will you answer?
Yea I'm not actually offended, just having a little fun with the no religion policy. Honestly though, I said it mainly because of that "missionary" player that has been mentioned. That guy either had a mental health issue, or was actually just here to flame. Because if he accomplished anything, it was to help turn people away from religion. He just wouldn't take no (from staff and players) for an answer and contiued to ram God down everyone's throat for about a month and a half. Sadly he has probably spoiled the waters here a bit for ya. Anyone who was around at that time is probably a little extra sensitive to it, and doesn't want to go through it again. Good luck to you and your new guild.
Re: GOD is calling you... will you answer?
Well, I would most certainly agree with +Veritas' policy. Disregarding my own religious views, I think that both politics and religion are the main sources of any quarrels that happen in any given social group. Ban on those two topic is in my opinion one of the things that makes and keeps this shard so friendly. (If only trolling could be eliminated so easily
) Perhaps some leniency could be considered when it comes to religion - as the aforementioned "flavor". Heck, I enjoyed playing priests of various alignments back in my D&D days, just to get into the mindset of different dogmas. But there should be a clear line as far as dragging RL religion into the game. Regardless whether it's one of the 'established' ones or something less... mainstream. That introduction could have been an innocent attempt to show you guild as more RP oriented. It also could have been a RL cult recruitment attempt. It teh internetz - you never know.
Melkor - was the guy by any chance BeaconOfHope? Or something like that? Cos that's the only 'missionary' I can recall.

I was only being a bit humorous my friend. There was no offense intended. And, I am Christian. No negative comments about God or anyone else's religion coming from me
