Level Weapon Reset

Post by Whitenight »

Just wondering if it would be possible to come up with a reset deed for level weapons, not so much as keep the XP but reset it back to its baseline and back to level 1

and the point of dropping it back to level one versus just getting a new one of the same base weapon type would be...?

Staff is unable to determine the original properties of the item according to this thread:
http://uoex.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3 ... eset#p5046

Thus, it would not be feasible to reset the properties.

well reason being would be lets say you work up a bone crusher but half way thru you main gear changes to where you no longer need the dex bonuses and would like to realocate those points on dex into something else

I think that when you mean reset you are actually asking for the experience points being able to re-allocated it. Cause otherwise like Lagos said if it resets to level 1 I will definitely not going to re-level it again. :D Besides this has been asked before in another thread.

After reading both this thread and the previous one, I have another recommendation. Since the original weapon stats are not stored why not offer a staff service to remove attributes and add the respective amount of points. As in I want to remove the 10% hit area the previous owner put on my yumi. Remove 10% hit area, add 40 points to weapon. Naturally there would be a significant charge, per point you regain.

I understand that naturally there will be people that have a looted 4x58 weapon, one of them being an AoE and want to to remove the AoE. If they have the funds to do so, why not? It would be an excellent gold sink, and I'm sure that many people would want to make changes such as these to thier weapons.

Say the staff charges 5ED per point regained. In my first example it would cost 200ED to correct that mistake. Perhaps a little pricey, but worth it to some. As for the second example, it would cost you 1160ED to remove that AoE and get the 232 points to re-allocate. Could be a significant gold sink..

+Coli did mention to me that he might be working on a reset button on the information gump of the weapon itself. but it will only reset the weapons stats that were used 15 minutes PRIOR to the button being used. could be very very useful when buying a lvl 100 blaze(or anything else) with no points spent....
some of the properties of this, hopefully, soon to be feature are (roughly not set in stone)
- reset only works for points spent in the last 15 minutes
-can only be done 1 time a day and a maximum of 2 times per month (so people dont abuse it.)

i completely support this but id also like a deed (which wont happen) that resets a weapon completely costing idk 300ED? or more cuz my Jack's is botched :verymad: sadly

he did say that but only weapons that have the 'new' deed applied. so no anyone who has a weapon with a level deed right now can't go backwards. :( but, it does help out the new players. ;) they don't have to make the mistakes on items. :dance
