Indeed valid points Colibri.. but I do wonder... if there is that many biopets in existence, how many are actively being used by their owner on a regular basis... with such a diverse source for DNA etc.. its quite possible many of those number were created and then failed to live up to expectations and have been stabled ever since... Its quite rare to see anyone with a bio-pet in tow...

as previously mentioned, perhaps the problem is not so much in the availability of organics themselves (especially once the ointment fix is implimented) but the way the Sampling code is written for Mimic.. currently its all based on random rolls after 15% chances and such, making it extremely small sucess chance to actually get a Counter or a Special (and thus creating a sub-par pet which wouldnt be used very often...)

(Also, didnt know about the newbie quest, quite tempted to hire a few young'uns, however realistically at some point the shard will not be growing at the current rate, so availability of "young'uns" to do that quest may deminish)

Just wanted to say Thank you for putting them on the exex. Which as you know will be a HUGE gold sink for the shard. I for one will try to get what I can from it. I truly diddnt want to start a huge issue with my post and Llexa I am sorry if it upset you. But from my point of it is more then rough...Xai and I partnered up with BOD's ohhh 3 or 4 weeks ago.
Since then I have truned in at least 10 LBODS (prolly more but using 10 for a number) from these LBODS I have gotten exactlly Zero Organics.
From the daily spawns (Abomination, New ooze's etc) I collected 5k in 2 weeks. From the 5k i made vials. From the 5 Vials I broke 2 and got 3 Junk dna. I have good luck 1500+ and still got 3 junk. When I say junk I mean Mimic with no special at all.
I am starting over also the first 4 weeks I was here I collected about 15k organics(most bought) broke alot of vials but was one vial from making my first test pet. This would have not been a great pet but it would have been a start.
But I was moving when the shard crashed and it wasnt up by the time i needed to be at work and bad timing on my part I lost a couple chests. One being all my Bio stuff another being all my Keys etc. which is all replaceable so oops my bad i learned a good lesson...when its laggy dont try to move in case of a crash
So between losing my first try and the amount of bods I have done with zero results I just felt the way they dropped was kinda messy. I mean 5k in 2 weeks of actively trying to buy/collect. Yes I have asked new players to collect them for me. I have asked in general chat prolly to much, Then last night I turned in yet another 5X20 and what do ya know no organics.....

I'm very surprised at the sudden interest in organics. I'm please they are in the auctions even if i never win! I've made 2 human Bio's The first was.... well rubbish but i learned a lot. I was lucky that as a new player I had the sense to hoard everything till I new what it was used for so I had enough. The second is much better but has no special attacks so probably isn't that great. The 3rd at least has a special fire attack. I just can't get the organics to finish it off due to the sudden interest. I have only managed to kill the abomination twice. I can't afford to buy them very often and Bods are a painfully slow source so this has and is going to take me a while.

As Reaping has said we teamed up for bods. I must have handed in 20 to 30 lbods and I think I got enough O's for about 5 dna attempts. Which have all ended in broken vials. Personaly I think its good that this isn't easy. I've been at this little side project for months. When it is finally created I shall no doubt be pleased with my efforts and hopefully the results. I've been looking into what equipment to give it and what to get dna from. This all leads to going places and doing things that I would probably not have thought to do. So the whole avaiability of O's issue in my opinion isn't broke so don't fix it. Its just a little unpopular.

Heh last night I did 2 more LBODS.. 5x15 Rat and 5x20 Dragon .... I almost cried.... both gave me leather...... I am thinking i need to get someone else to turn these things in for me.....
