Would it be possible to add a nudge factor to the House Decorator Tool? Having the ability to nudge an item in any direction would open up a whole new world for those of us who like to decorate. Having items always being dropped on the left side of a tile just doesnt look right a lot of the time. As an Admin, I used to be able to do that years ago; so, is it possible to transfer that to the deco tool?

off topic, but related. using a yard wand and a deco tool to create extra floors to a house, even if within the houses range(house commands still work) is illegal and you will be forced to either sell your items, or lose them and the money when a gm deletes it.
legal loophole? you can however add tiles onto an existing floor to expand.

when using the yard wand don't get to creative, your time and effort may just be wasted.
put 10 hours or more into building, forced to sell. lost about 1mil gold due to bank being full at the time of selling a yard wand item. of coarse the extra 10 - 20 times i did it without noticing the system message telling me yard wand item sale failed and to page a gm were my fault. paging a gm led nowhere.

If you wish to see my creation, its the red tile from apartments, the Magincia house north-east of the bank. what i built that was forced removal was a 4th floor, on top of the houses normal 3rd floor roof. This is illegal due to people building houses using sinks yard wand building the basements demolishing house and repeating this process to create apparently humongous basements.

To be honest with Yeah, i think we should be allowed to build at least one floor above our houses. That being said. Apparently doing so causes server lag and other issues. So oh well, guess we will just have to buy additional house slots...

Back to the topic, I think this Idea is great. It will make decoration proccess so much finer. But we surely must think about another menu for it, cause the one we have now is pretty uncomfortable already with only three options. I think about something like this:

When I first joined Excelsior I had a nice conversation with Shaarlee about this. She had asked +Colibri, and the reply was no. This is because someone may get overzealous with the option and end up with house items sticking out of walls past the foundation limit, which would then need a GM to remove. The GMs have enough to do as it is.

For example: Last summer I irritated +Chaos because I could not remove a yard wand fountain, no matter what method employed. He showed up in a huff, said he had no problem removing it and probably assumed I was moron, rolled his eyes at me and promptly disappeared. Well the other day GeoFizzle had the exact same problem and had to ask for a GM to remove it. And I noticed a yard wand item (mushroom bunch) disappeared twice out of my game house garden. So there are definitely a few bugs here with deco stuff.

On a horrible low player base (20-30 players only) 100% custom shard I played a couple of years ago, they built in additional commands to move locked-down house items. These were:

" " East.
" " West.

The house deco tool already has Up/Down, and there is a limit in place of how many times you can raise/lower. Just add in limitations to not go beyond walls. However, this brings up another problem - custom house design. So many houses sunk, either to the foundation or an entire floor. With too many variables in place, I am not sure the nudge system would even work.

But let's face it. There are things on this shard that are incomplete or buggy and have been for more than a year. So don't hold your breath waiting for this change. But I understand he needs to have a life outside of this game, with a job, family, relaxation/vacation time, and personal relationships. He should seriously consider getting another scripter. But I think perhaps +Coli is kind of a control freak and doesn't trust anyone else to touch the server. So that's why changes such as these are never done, because he doesn't have enough time in a day to do everything on his own.

On a side note, when will Britain be renovated for Spring? That snow is depressing. Maybe they are not doing it because there are way too many bank-sitters in Brit. You lazy bums, get out of Brit so they can redeco! *laughs*
